Eleanor Bliss was born September 16,

and his wife, Roxie Blakely. She married William H. Kibbe on April 18, 1847
in Stratford and died December 25, 1924 in Stratford, NY. William and
Eleanor had four children.

He had 7 children by Lillian, one of whom was my mother, Ethel Kibbe b.

(my dad). |
I have a gold-bowl sterling silver
tablespoon engraved with the names of Eleanor and William H. Kibbe and the
date of their 50th anniversary. Eleanor lived to be 102 years old
and was the oldest person to ever join the DAR in Dolgeville, NY. She joined
the Colonel William Feeter Branch in December of 1922 at 100 years of age.
She joined on the service of Levi Bliss, her grandfather. She was in good
health and active until a few days before she died.
Eleanor Bliss Kibbe’s line is as
follows:

Ebenezer Bliss b. 1772 Adams, MA m. Roxie L. Blakely 1798
and d. 1853. Ebenezer Bliss was a Justice of the peace in Stratford, NY
for 24 years. He lived there from 1805 and died there in 1853. I have a
real nice little box with seals of Ebenezer when he was Justice. In the
box is a note from my grandfather Will H. Kibbe dated June 4, 1922 and he
says “Ma gave this box to me.” (Ma would be Eleanor Bliss Kibbe). It also
states that the box at that time was 125 years old. Printed on the cover
in faded print is Ebenezer Blysse. |
