Rites for Veteran, 91

Funeral services for William Thomas SLAUGHTERBACK, 91 years old, veteran of the War Between the States, were held Sunday at the Milltown Baptist church. Burial was in the cemetery there. Mr. SLAUGHTERBACK, who served with Company A, Eighty-first Infantry, died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wilford HOWERTON, 722 West Seventh Street.

Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Laura MORTON of Jeffersonville and Mrs. Sarah HARRIS of New Albany; a son, William L., of Tacoma, Wash.; a half-sister, Mrs. Phoebe SPENCER, of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; a half-brother, John SLAUGHTERBACK, of New Mexico; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
