who lived in Greenville In. George was born in May 1848. He first married Belle
Miller. He then married Mary Ellen Mosier. George and Belle had three children.

Floyd County Query: My gr-gr-gr-grandfather Enoch Greathouse died while
traveling in Spencer County in 1845. According to an article I found, he was
buried by the overseers of the poor, after his possesions were sold to pay his
funeral expenses, there was a balance of $14.00. He was traveling with a girl
age 10-12 years old, whom he called his grandaughter. Has anyone heard of this
gentleman and girl, perhaps a family story? I know Enoch had a sister Mary who
married William Taylor from Floyd County, IN. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Floyd County query April 8, 1997 I am searching for the parents of George W.
Hancock. According to the 1900 census he was born in Floyd County and his
occupation was listed as a butcher. He married first, Belle Miller, daughter of
Jacob Miller, and his second wife was Mary Ellen Mosier. George died Feb. 18,
1922 and is buried in Greenlawn cemetery in Greenville. He was the father of
Herman, Byron, Ralph, Homer, Grace, Ruth and Merrill Hancock. Ralph was my

Desperately seeking information on Jesse Mae POTTER Hobson. I have no birth
dates or death dates, but she would have been born around 1885 - 1890. She
married William Edwin Hobson and they had five children (Anna Lee, Garland,
Potter, Graham, and Raymond). I know she is buried in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in
Jeffersonville next to her husband but nothing more of her is known to me. I am
working with someone on the Hobson line, so only Potter knowledge is needed.
This line has eluded me for quite sometime. Any info whether related or not

I have the Marriage Return for my husband, John Lamb's, great grandfather,
EDWARD LAMB. I also have a copy of his Marriage Certificate which lists his
name as both EDMUND LAMB and EDWARD LAMB. Edward was 23 years old on August 12,
1888 when he married Emma Tipps in Canton, Washington County, Indiana. It lists
his county of birth as Floyd County, Indiana. His father is listed as LEWIS
LAMB and his mother as CHRISTINA LIBBY. I have reviewed the extensive geneology
at the Floyd County Library several years old and a file on a Mary Lamb, but
was unable to find a connection for Edward. The Lambs also appear to have move
to Champaign, Illinois as some point because Edward's son, John H. Lamb, was
born there.

Floyd Co October 1st 1996 I am trying to locate my ggrandfather who appears in
the 1860, ward 2 census for Floyd Co. His name was Michael Buntzman, his wife
was Lona or Lonia and his children were: Barbara, Michael, Eve, Emma, and John.
I am trying to locate birth info on the last three children and death records
for the parents Michael and Lona. The last name may have been spelled Bunzmann
or Bunsman or Bunchman. In 1870 all five children appear in the Metropolis City
Illinois census. I think the trail of migration was called the Buffalo Trace
Trail that lead them to south central Illinois then to southern Illinois. Are
there any records of people who migrated on this trail? Your help would be
really appreciated, I have been searching for a long time to find this
information.

1886. She was baptized at Holy Trinity Church, New Albany. We are looking for
information about Henrietta and her parents, William Hanley and Mary Jane

at a Glass Works; also William's dau Margaret HUTT, b July 1875 Indiana, md c
1895 Henry KNABLE, b Dec 1862, they lived in Kokomo at time of 1900 Census and
had dau Mary E. KNABLE, b may 1898, Margaret also had son Henry RICE, b Sep
1892 by 1st marriage. Henry Knable worked at a Glass Works 1900. Any

m. 2/25/1847 Cynthia Bell b. 2/20/1834 Shelby Co., KY, d. 1901, Jeffersonville,
IN. They had eight children: William, Henry, Eliza, Mayme, John Huffman, Kate,
and two unknown named children. Martin Kime was returning from the Mexican
American War in May 1848, aboard the "Morning Star" when it sank at
the Falls of the Ohio. He was taken in by the BELL family and eventually
married their daughter. __ BELL was a miller at the Gathright and Harbison
Water Mill. I am seeking information on this BELL family and would like to
contact the descendants of this couple.

Hancock b. abt 1795 in Randolph co. NC and died in Jun 1847, Franklin tp.,
Floyd co. IN. He married 7 Jan 1813 in Harrison co. to Mary (Polly) French.
Children: David (1815-1843); John B. (1818-1904); Stephen A. (1821-1859); Mary
Helen (1824-1859); Thomas (1826-1853); William M. (1830 twin-1906); Jane E.
(1830 twin -1906,this is my line); Isaiah (1831-1886); Elizabeth (1834-d?).
David, Stephen & Jane who married George W. Shaw all lived in Spencer
county for a time, the brothers & Jane's husband all dying there. Any help
appreciated & will gladly share.

1847Feb. Rachel remarried 1848 to Alexander MONTGOMERY who died before 1856.
Rachel moved to Comanche, Iowa, where she remarried twice. Children were:
Walter, Lydia Ann, Samuel?, Sarah A, Martha "Patsy," Joseph Hayes,
Andrew Jackson, Lafayette, Edward J, and Mary Jane. Walter and Lafayette were
KIA Civil War, both serving in Company "C," 81st Indiana Infantry
Regiment.Andrew J served in Company "C," 23rd Indiana Infantry,
captured at Kingston, GA, and was exchanged 1865Mar at N E Ferry, NC. As a
Militiaman, Joseph Hayes was captured by Gen John Hunt Morgan at the Battle of

Floyd County,September 29th 1996 I am trying to gather all the information on
my ggrandfather who appears in the 1860 Floyd County census,Ward 2. His name
was Michael Buntzman, his wife's first name was Lona <spelling because it is

the 1860 census information Eva,Emma and John were born in Indiana. Michael's

Henrietta (Hattie) HANLEY was born in Floyd Co, IN, on 28 Feb 1886. Her parents
were William Hanley and Mary Jane Buckley and she was baptized at Holy Trinity
church. Later she married Charles Burgert and moved to Vincennes, then Terre
Haute. Does anyone have any information about this family. Thanks for your

I am seeking any information on the family of Rachel Dingey, she married Abel Hewitt and had 11 children, residing in Fayette Co, PA, near the mouth of Washington Run. Abel built a sawmill on Washington Run. He died in 1823, leaving Rachel with 8 minor children. Whom did Rachel remarry? Did the entire family move to Floyd Co, In? Jesse T. Hewitt, Rachel and Abels' son is in the Floyd Co, Census. Who were her parents, siblings, and death information? Gee, I sound like a genealogist.
