W. Combs to Sampson Combs Deed

This Indenture
made and entered into this 6th day of March 1880 by and between George
W. Combs and Malory Combs his wife of the first part and Sampson
Combs of the second part each of the County of Lee and state of Kentucky,
Witnesseth; that the party of the first part hath this day for and in consideration
of the sum of five hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is
hereby these present doth grant bargain sell and convey unto the party
of the second part all of a certain tract or a parcel of land lying and
being in the County and state aforesaid on Billys Fork of Millers Creek
beginning at Tobias Smith corner near the creek and running with
his line to the top of the dividing ridge between Little Sinking and Billys
Fork; Thence with the top of the ridge around to William Smith
corner Thence running with John H. Barrett line to the creek;
Thence down the creek as it meanders to the beginning containing Four hundred
acres more or less and the same land sold and deed by Jacob Crabtree
to Isum Barrett and the same land sold and deeded Jourdan Neal
as Sheriff Estill County to George W. Combs the party of the second
part to have and to hold the same from the party of the first part forever
and the party of the first part Doth hereby warrant and defend the title
the said land unto the party of the second part his heirs or assigns against
all claims that is now or may hereafter come against the same in witness
whereof we have hereunto set our hand and seals the day and year above
written

J. N. Lutes Clerk of the Lee County Court; do certify that the foregoing
deed from George W. Combs to Sampson Combs was acknowledged
by Geo. W. Combs on the 6th day of March 1880 and in July by Malory
Combs the same year as appears from the Indorsement thereon which in
words and figures are as follows, “ Acknowledged before me in due form
of law by Geo. W. Combs this 6th day of Mch. 1810 W. P. Hill
C.
Lee” “Acknowledged by Malory Combs wife of G. W. Combs
July 1880 C. B. Hill D. C. for W. P. Hill Clk.” and the same
was this day lodged for record, whereupon the same and foregoing and this
Certificate has this day been duly recorded in my office.
