Wounds Prove Fatal to T.M. PENDERGRASS Tom Morgan PENDERGRASS, 59, died at the Gurrant Clinic in Winchester, Ky, Sunday, July 23, at 4:30 a.m. he was admitted to the hospital on July 1 suffering from bullet wounds in the arm and head. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove at 2:30 Monday afternoon by the Rev. WALTERS. Internment was in the family cemetery at Pleasant Grove. Garrett Funeral Home of Beattyville was in charge. PENDERGRASS was struck by bullets fired during a fight July 1 between Charles THOMAS and Wilgus STEELE at Rowland's Inn on the Beattyville-Booneville Highway. He was brought to Beattyville where first aid was rendered and then rushed to the hospital where, for a while, it looked as if he would recover. He is survived by his widow: eight children: Lillian HALCOMB, Kings Mill, Ohio, Mrs. Cassie REYNOLDS, Lancaster, Dessie GABBARD, Indiana, Clifford, Alberta, Merril, Carrie and Cleveland, all of Booneville; two brothers, Bill of Dayton, Ohio, and Robert of St. Paul, Minnesota, and two sisters, Lou DALEY, Dayton, Ohio, and Haddie BOWMAN, Scoville, Ky |
