Wednesday, 17 April 1935Weirton, WV - Dr. T. E. Cato of New Cumberland, Hancock county coroner, today returned an "accidental death" verdict after an inquest over the body of James Farley, 39, of Steubenville, O., an engineer, who was fatally injured by a switch engine in the Weirton Steel Co. yard here.
Farley died in a Steubenville hospital after both legs and his left arm were amputated.
He was found lying along the tracks by James Sills, foreman of the mill transportation department, and taken to the emergency hospital. There were no witnesses to the accident.
He leaves a widow and two daughters.

Thursday, 18 April 1935Heidelberg, April 17 -- Matt Farley, 36, was fatally injured in a foundry at Stubenville, Ohio, Monday.
Mrs. Farley was an engineer on a railroad within the foundry, the details of the accident are not known.
The body will be brought here to the home of his mother, Mrs. Belle Farley, and burial will be in the Farley graveyard near Cross Roads Thursday.
He is survived by his widow and several children, his mother, a brother, Hubert Farley, Sharonville, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Clay Mays, of West Virginia.

Thursday, 16 May 1935James Madison Farley was born at Cross Roads Feb. 25, 1896, and died in an Ohio hospital April 14, 1935. He was a son of James S. and Belle Farley.
In 1916 he married to Miss Lula Hauchin, Heidelberg, and is survived by his widow and two daughters, Anna Lucille and Helen Bernetta. He is also survived by his mother, three brothers and six sisters.
Some 12 years ago Mr. Farley and his family moved to Stubenville, Ohio, where he was employed as an engineer. April 13, he was struck by a shifting engine in the steel works yard of the Weirton Steel Company and died in a hospital the next morning.
He was a member of the Masonic order and an adherent of the Christian Church.

Thursday, 2 March 1939Mrs. Martha Farley, age 78 years, died at her home in Proctor Saturday morning at 10:15 o'clock, February 25, from a lingering illness. Heart trouble was the cause of her death.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Beattyville Baptist church, conducted by Rev. T. R. Sams, pastor, assisted by Rev. W. L. Merrin, Presbyterian minister of Beattyville, and the Rev. Albert C. Wildman, Presbyterian minister of Booneville. Burial was in the Edwards cemetery at Pebworth.
Mrs. Farley was the daughter of Jim and Sally Branson, and a member of the Baptist church.
She leaves surviving her her husband, T. C. Farley, four daughters, Mrs. Edd Combs, Nicholasville; Mrs. C. G. McCollum, Richmond; Mrs. Guy Congleton, Louisville; Mrs. Bud Combs, Pebworth, and a brother, Wick Branson.

Thursday, 1 July 1937Mrs. Patsey Pendergrass Farley, 91, daughter of the Rev. Cordia and Minerva Thompson Pendergrass, wife of Sheridan Farley, died at the home near Cross Roads Sunday, June 27.
For many years and up until a few months ago she had been a resident of Beattyville.
Funeral services were held by the Rev. Arthur T. Tipton and the Rev. Luther Newnam Monday afternoon and burial was in the old Pendergrass graveyard at Pleasant Grove
Mrs. Farly had been a member of the Methodist church, the faith of her father, for longer than the ordinary lifetime.
She was born in Lee county, Virginia, June 19, 1847, and came with her parents to Owsley county at an early age.
She is survived by her husband, four sons and one daughter: James Malaer, Beattyville; Robert Newnam, Pebworth; Boring Newnam, of Ohio; Wheeler Farley, of Ohio, and Mrs. Henry Brandenburg, Beattyville. A brother, D. B. Pendergrass, Winchester, and four sisters survive her also: Mrs. Green Evans, Levi; Mrs. George Burke, Breathitt county; Mrs. Louisa Mays, Cressmont, and Mrs. Sarah Bowman, Delvinta.
Congleton Bros. were the undertakers in charge.

Thursday, 14 September 1950Funeral services for Mrs. May Belle Farler, 75, were held Tuesday afternoon, September 12, at the Heidelberg Baptist Church with the Rev. C. E. Keeley of Georgetown conducting the services.
Wife of the late James S. Farler, she had made her home in the Heidelberg community for the past 37 years.
The daughter of the late Leroy and Parmelia Isaacs Venable, she was born in Owsley county August 25, 1875. She died September 10th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Hamilton. Her husband died February 5, 1927.
Mrs. Farler is survived by two sons, Hubert, of Dayton, O., and Haston, of Brevard, N.C.; six daughters, Mrs. Mary Hamilton, Heidelberg, Mrs. Fannie White of Quinwood, W.Va., Mrs. Barbara Benton, Dayton, O., Mrs. Allie Newman of Wharncliffe, W.Va., Mrs. Laura Thacker of Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs. Eva Deaton of Hazard. Three brothers, Matt Venable of Vincent, Rolla Venable of Cincinnati and Willie Venable of Richmond, three sisters, Mrs. Eva Tincher of Heidelberg, Mrs. Hattie Fowler of Congleton, and Mrs. Ethel Fraley of Heidelberg also survive her. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the family cemetery near Cross Roads with Congleton Brothers funeral home in charge. Pallbearers were Lowell Brandenburg, Charlie Farler, Marcus Hamilton, Corbitt Thacker, Howard Fraley and Bill Black.

Thursday, 29 June 1944Sheridan Farley died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Brandenburg, at four o'clock Sunday afternoon, June 25. Death was due to infirmities of age.
Funeral services were conducted at the Pendergrass cemetery at Pebworth at 2:30 Monday afternoon, June 26 by Rev. Charley Evans.
Mr. Farley, who was 95 years old at the time of his death, was born in Virginia May 12, 1849. For the past several years he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Brandenburg.
He is survived by one son, Wheeler Farley of Middltetown, Ohio; two stepsons, Bowen Newnam of Dayton, Ohio, and Robert Newnam of Congleton, and one daughter, Mrs. Julia Brandenburg of Beattyville.

Friday, 13 July 1934Delvinta, July 5 - Ural [sic] Farmer, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Farmer was killed by an accidental shot from a shotgun yesterday. He was buried today in the graveyard at Stonecoal.
The boy and a friend went out to shoot a rabbit, it is said, and in passing an apple tree the Farmer boy decided to knock some apples with the stock of the gun. In some way the gun was discharged with the load entering his abdomen resulting in death.

He leaves a wife and three children, his mother, two brothers, four sisters, and a host of friends to mourn their loss.

Thursday, 26 November 1953Mrs. Margaret Gray Farmer, 98, die at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Wilson Smith of Irvine, Tuesday, November 17.
A native of Lee county she had made her home with Mrs. Smith the past seven years due to infirmities of age. Although confined to her bed the past two years, Mrs. Farmer's mind had remained remarkedly clear. Mr. Farmer was a member of the Stone Coal Baptist Church in Lee County.
Surviving children in addition to Mrs. Smith are four daughters, Mary Mary Jane Isaacs, Mrs. Cinda Cart, Mrs. Birdie Gentry and Mrs. Ella Creech, all of Lee county; three sons, Sam, Floyd and Robert Farmer, all of Lee county; also surviving her are 48 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Stone Coal Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 19, by Rev. John Gaines. Burial was in the church cemetery nearby.

Thursday, 2 December 1954Monie Bell Farmer of Farmers Ridge, age 57, died Nov. 16 after an illness of eight weeks.
She was the daughter of Cale Richardson and Nettie Bell Tyree.
She was united in marriage to Archie Farmer and to the union was born five sons: Winfred, Brownsville, Ind.; Chester, Cincinnati, O.; Russell at home; Hershel at home; three daughters: Nettie Belle Brandenburg, of Grayson; Ethel Mae Ceeley, of Beattyville, and Thelma Marsella Farmer at home. There are six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Farmer joined the Christian Church at the age of 16 and had lived a faithful life up to her death.
The funeral was held on Nov. 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the home, conducted by Rev. George Botner and burial was in the Stone Coal Cemetery. King Justice Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Thursday, 30 May 1935Wanda Lee Farmer, about 3 years of age, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Letcher Farmer of Delvinta, died Thursday morning, the 16th, after a lingering illness of nine months.

Thursday, 26 June 1952Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Faulkner were conducted at Trent onn Monday, June 16th, by Rev.Trent. Burial followed in the Howard cemetery in Wolfe County.
Mrs. Faulkner was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Hall of Helechawa.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband; four daughters, five sons and 10 step-children.
Mrs. Faulkner died shortly after giving birth to a baby daughter at their home near Natural Bridge. She was alone when the baby was born as her husband Howard Faulkner had gone to the William Spencer home to summons a doctor for her.

Friday, 9 March 1934Booneville, Mar.8 - The search for the body of Crit Fields Jr, better known as "Boone" was continued this morning with a large number of men and taking part.
Fields who was 22 years old was heard to call three times for help as he was crossing the river Monday night near the mouth of Sextons Creek, about 11 miles above Booneville. He is said to have stopped at the home of Fielding Hensley where he was told that the river was to high to ford. He is said to have remarked that he would go down and have a look at the river. A little later he was heard calling for help, but when the Hensleys reached the river he could not be seen. The mule which he had been riding was standing in deep water about 75 yards below where it had entered the river. The saddle was still on the mule and the girths were tight.
He is survived by his father, two brothers Hubert and Chester and three sisters Lucy and Elizabeth of Booneville and Mrs. Maude Burch of Cincinnati, Ohio, He is also survived by a step mother, three half brothers and four half sisters.

Jess Fields Dies in Estill County
Jess Fields, 74, of Cressmont, died Monday in the Estil County Hospital after a short illness. He was a farmer and member of the Holiness Church.
Survivors are his wife, Lucy of Cressmont; four sons: O'rear, Dayton, Ky., George of Scottsburg, IN, Lonnie of Austin, IN, and Charles of Heidelberg; two daughters, Mrs. Avenall Gabbard, Cincinnati and Mrs. Roslen Maloney, Dayton, OH; three brothers, Bob of Lexington, Hense of New Zion and Henry of Mattamora, IN; a sister, Mrs. Nannie Gullet of Lexinton; 22 granchildren.
Burial in Stone Coal Cemetery by Rev. Walter Strong.

Thursday, 25 October 1956Kathleen Fields, 8-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carr Fields of Booneville, died October 19, in Children's Hospital in Louisville, after one day there.
Besides her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Gracie McIntosh of Dayton, and Sarah Fields of Booneville; one brother, William Henry Fields, of Booneville; her grandmother, Sarah Fields of Booneville.

Thursday, 19 July 1956Funeral services for Mrs. Laura McGraw Fike, 78, were held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 16 at the Slone Cemetery by Rev. Sam Wilson.
Mrs. Fike, the daughter of the late John and Jane McGraw, was born in Powell county Feb. 14, 1878 and died at her home at Beattyville, Saturday, July 14, after an illness of three years.
She was a member of the Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Brownlow Fike; one sister, Mrs. Alice Shearer of Beattyville.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Congleton Brothers Funeral Home.

Thursday, 8 August 1935Mrs. Sarah Noe Fyke, 74, wife of Brownlow Fyke, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harry Roach Sunday night about 8:15 o'clock, following an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services were conducted at the grave by the Rev. D. W. Mainous and burial was in the Cornett graveyard Monday afternoon.
Surviving Mrs. Fyke are her husband; two brothers, Lafayette Noe, Beattyville, Lee Noe, of Magoffin county, and a sister, Mrs. Harry Roach, Congleton.
She had been a member of the Baptist church for about 45 years.

Thursday, 1 July 1937Independence, June 29 -- Mrs. Cora May Flanery, 64, widow of Leonard Flanery, formerly of Beattyville, who died in a hospital at McAllen, Texas, Sunday morning from effects of an insect bite, will be buriewd here Wednesday.
Mrs. Flanery who moved here from Beattyville about 10 years ago, had been living in Texas since last September. Mr. Flanery died about six years ago and was buried in Independence cemetery. The body of Mrs. Flanery will be brought back there for interment tomorrow.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters: Scott and Edward Flanery, of McAllen, Texas; Ruie Flanery, Covington, Ky., Mrs. S. R. Collier, Independence, and Mrs. John Lewis, McAllen, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Eva Blanton, Mrs. Zach Wilson, of Beattyville, and Mrs. Bass McGuire, of Vincent, sisters of Mrs. Flanery, plan to attend the funeral. Mrs. Elizabeth Porter and Mrs. Carter D. Stamper will also attend.

Friday, 17 May 1940David Flanery was born October 22, 1868, and died April 28, 1940.
He resided his entire life in Owsley county. March 26, 1890 he was married to Miss Emma Mahaffey and they became the parents of four children, two of whom died in infancy.
He is survived by his widow, two sons, Claude Flanery, of Travelers Rest and Roy Flanery, of Hamilton, Ohio. He is also survived by five brothers.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church at Travelers Rest for many years.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. John S. Turner and Rev. Dillard Mainous in the Presbyterian church at Travelers Rest.

Thursday, 27 May 1937Indianola, Miss., May 14 -- Mrs. Fannie Breeding Flanery died at her home in Indianola, Miss., Saturday, May 8, following a stroke of appoplexy suffered recently. However, friends and relatives thought she would recover as she seemed to be slowly improving up until her passing.
She is survived by her husband, Finley Flanery; one daughter, Mrs. Calvin Wells, Jackson, Miss.; and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, John Breeding, Beattyville; three brothers and three sisters - Mrs. Ruth Brandenburg, Mrs. Milo Beatty, Mrs. W. T. Pryse and Charles Breeding, of Beattyville, and Wilgus and Morton Breeding, of Saratoga, Calif.

Thursday, 7 December 1950Finley F. Flanery, 76, husband of the late Fannie Breeding Flanery, died at a hospital in Jackson, Miss., Friday, Dec. 1.
He was the son of the late John and Mary Flanery. A native of Owsley county, he resided in Beattyville during his early manhood, where he was employed as a bookkeeper for the Swan Day Lumber Co.
He was engaged in the lumber business in Indianola, Miss., for a number of years. After his retirement he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Calvin Wells, of Jackson, Miss. He made annual visits to Kentucky as long as his health permitted.
Surviving relatives are his daughter, Mrs. Wells, and three grandchildren of Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Burgess and Mrs. Everette Brookshire of Lexington; three brothers, J. H. Flanery of Richmond, Eddie Flanery of Lexington, and Floyd Flanery of Kansas, Ill.

Thursday, 27 January 1955James C. Flannery, 63, died at 12:30, January 19, at the home of his mother, Mrs. Emma Mahaffey Flannery, at Travellers Rest.
He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by a brother, Roy Flannery, Hamilton, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, at the Travellers Rest Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Robert G. McClure. Burial was in the Brewer Cemetery near Travellers Rest. King Justice Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

17 March 1966Mr. James G. Flanery, 84, of 401 Maple Street, son of the late Mr. Hampton Flanery and Mrs. Nancy Brandenburg Flanery, was born in Lee County, Kentucky, July 20, 1881. He died suddenly enroute to the Rosary Hospital at 8:25 p.m., Friday, March 11th, of a brain hemorrhage.
Mr. Flanery was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville; was retired from the Railroad and a Veteran of the Spanish-American War. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Elks Lodge. He united in marriage to Mrs. Nelle Brooks Crawley, October 20, 1954.
Besides his wife, he is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank Wax, of Spokane, Washington; two step-daughters and one step-son, Mrs. William Blevins of Campbellsville, Mrs. Joe Crain of Lexington, and Thomas Pryse of Bardstown; also three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 13th in the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home by Rev. George K. Bowling with burial in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lawrence Rafferty, Ray Blevins, Carol Blevins, Kenneth Colvin, Charles Melton, and Roy Wethington.

Thursday, 9 February 1956Miss Minnie Lane Flannery, 80, widow of T. C. Flannery and a former resident of Owsley county, died at her home at Irvine, Feb. 2, following a long illness.
She was a member of the Irvine Christian Church and the Auxilary of the Ordre of Railroad Conductors.
Survivors include two sons, Elmer Flannery of Lexington and Fred Flannery of Somerset, a daughter, Mrs. Marie White of Springfield, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Brewer of Sturgeon; Mrs. Nannie Stanto of Luther, Mich.; Mrs. Emma Peters of Peppertown, Ind. and Mrs. Fannie Bohenkam of Loveland, ohio; a brother, Willie Lane of Miamitown, Ohio and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, at the Irvine Christian Church by the Rev. Keith Bell. Burial was in the Richmond Cemetery.

Thursday, 13 August 1936Greenhall, Aug. 9 -- Silas Flanery, 82, died at his home here Friday night.
Funeral services and burial was today with interrment in the family graveyard on the farm
Mrs. Price Eager, Winchester, is the only surviving child. Robert Flanery, only son, has been dead several years.
Several grandchildren survive including Mrs. Beatrice Jameson, Beattyville, and Hershel Flanery, former assistant postmaster at Beattyville.

Thursday, 19 November 1953Mrs. Stella Flanery, 68, wife of James G. Flanery, died at her home in Spokane, Washington, Nov. 11, following a heart attack. She had been in poor health for several months. Burial was in Spokane.
About 10 years ago Mrs. Flanery and her husband spent several weeks visiting relatives and firends in Lee and Owsley counties. Mr. Flanery, a retired railroader, was here about three years ago visiting his sister, Mrs. Nannie Jameson, and other relatives.
Mrs. Flanery, a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, is survived by her husband and two daughters.

Thursday, 23 April 1953Thomas C. Flanery, 68, conductor for the L & N Railroad, died of a heart attack early Wednesday morning of last week at Avon while on a run to Lexington.
A native of Owsley, Mr. Flanery resided in Irvine for the past 35 years and had 36 years of service with the railroad. He was a member of the Order of Railway Conductors of America and a member of the Irvine Christian Church.
Mr. Flanery is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Lane Flanery; two sons, Elmer Flanery of Lexington and Fred Flanery of Somerset; a daughter, Mrs. Marie White of Springfield, Ohio.
Also surviving is his father, J. H. Flanery; two brothers, Grayden of Madison county, and Earl of Irvine. Three sisters also survive who include Misses Mayme and Beaulah Flanery of Madison county and Mrs. G. D. Rall of Beattyville.
Funeral services were held last Friday in the Irvine Christian Church with Rev. Harold Deitch officiating and burial was in the Richmond Cemetery at Richmond.

Thursday, 23 June 1938Three Owsley Men Killed In Auto Accident
Three persons were killed instantly Tuesday afternoon when the car in which they were riding overturned and plunged over an embankment on the Beattyville-Booneville highway near Pebworth.
The victims were: Will Joel [sic] Flanery, 78; Grant Judd, 25, and Augustus Mainous, 26.
The accident occurred when the car, driven by Mainous, failed to straighten out after passing a state highway truck, turned over on the highway and then rolled over an embankment.
The occupants of the machine were thrown from the wreckage. Flanery's body was found nearly 30 feet from the wreck.
The men were residents of Scoville, Owsley County, where the bodies were taken following the accident.
Flanery is survived by his wife and one grandson; Judd is survived by his wife, Mrs. Augusta Clarkston Judd, and Mainous is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Mainous.

Thursday, 2 April 1953Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 25, in the Chapel of the Congleton Bros. Funeral Home for Harold L. Fleeger, 71, who died on March 23 at Oak Forest, Ill.
Mr. Fleeger was a one-time oil man who operated in Lee and Owsley county about 15 years ago. Mr. Fleeger's wife died and was buried here in the Riverview Cemetery in December 1938. Shortley afterwards Mr. Fleeger returned north where it is understood that he continued to follow the oil business.
He is survived by three sons.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Boaz Smith and Mr. Fleeger was buried beside his wife. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Congleton Brothers Funeral Home.

Friday, 9 December 1938Beattyville, Dec. 8 -- Mrs. Mary Fleeger, age 51, wife of Harold L. Fleeger, died of a heart attack at her home in this city Saturday, December 3, at eight o'clock. She had been in ill health for some time prior to her death.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Wednesday by the Rev. Luther Newnam. Burial followed in Riverview cemetery.
She is survived by her husband and three sons: Charles J. Fleeger, Alameda, California, Dale Leroy Fleeger, Chicago, Illinois, and Harold, Jr., of this city.

Thursday, 2 February 1950Funeral services for Ray Fletcher, 48, [sic] were held Sunday afternoon at the home near Tallega. Rev. Roy Adams and Rev. Marvin Wheeler conducted the services.
Mr. Fletcher died of tuberculosis Friday, January 27, following an illness of several years. He was a veteran, having entered service May 30, 1940, and being discharged April 28, 1942. He was not married and had made his home with his mother, Mrs. Lucy Fletcher, at Tallega.
He is survived by his mother and one uncle, Morton Fletcher, of Blackey.
Interment was in the family graveyard with Pennington funeral home in charge. Pallbearers were friends and neighbors.

Thursday, 4 January 1951Funeral services for Will C. Fletcher, 75, were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, Dec. 27, at the home with services conducted by Jennings Roaden.
Mr. Fletcher, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Fletcher, was born in Breathitt county Sept. 20, 1875, and died at his home, Dec. 23, 1950 of a heart attack.
He is survived y one son, Price Fletcher of River Rouge, Mich.
Burial was in the Fletcher cemetery near Canyon Falls, with Pennington Funeral Home in charge.

Thursday, 3 November 1955Funeral services for Everett Flinchum, 81, were held at 2 p.m. October 28, in the Horn Cemetery at Crystal by the Rev. Andy Jones.
Mr. Flinchum, the son of the late Dave and Becky Lee Flinchum was born in Powell county, May 20, 1874 and died October 26 at the Pattie A. Clay Infirmary at Richmond where he had been admitted on Monday. He was a farmer at Crystal on the Lee-Estill county line and was a member of the Crystal Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eliza Ann Flinchum, three sons, Bradley and Love Flinchum of Hamilton, Ohio and Brack Flinchum of Crystal; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Abney, Mrs. Pulia Barrett of Crystal and Mrs. Mary Stamper of Hamilton, Ohio; three brothers, Tom Flinchum of Crystal; Dave Flinchum of Lexington and Hulet Flinchum of Columbus, Ohio and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Townsend of Crystal and Mrs. Mary Townsend of Lexington.

Thursday, 25 October 1951Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, for Harley B. Flynn, prominent Lee county businessman and sportsman, who died Saturday, Oct. 20, while on a hunting trip near Huron, South Dakota. Harley was 55 years of age and his death is attributed to a heart attack.
Along with a party of men consisting of Dr. George T. Smith, Jim Cundiff, Jewell White and several others from around here, Harley left here Wednesday of last week for a pheasant hunt. The word was received that the party had hunted one day and had returned to the farm where they were staying and were preparing to go out when he suddenly fell dead.
Harley was the son of the late Ralph and Arna Flynn and was born at Valley View in Madison county.
He leaves to survive him his wife, Mrs. Cecile Phillips Flynn, two sons, Harold Eugene and Johnny H. Flynn, and two daughters, Mrs. Luther Newnam and Betty Sue Flynn.
Also included among the survivors are two brothers, Harry Flynn and Homer Flynn, both of Irvine, and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Bryson of Memphis, Tennessee.
The funeral services will be conducted at the Flynn home here with the Rev. Emmett M. Waits and layreader Glen Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Proctor cemetery with Congleton Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Jewell White, Dr. George T. Smith, C. D. Smith, Burl Cundiff, Jim Cundiff, Ray Salyer, W. L. Jones, Ed Mays, Lewis Arnold and Floyd Farmer.

Monday, 23 September 1985Services for Candace Fortsalos, 75, of Blue Ash, a retired teacher, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Strawser Funeral Home, 9503 Kenwood Road, Blue Ash.
Mrs. Fortsalos died Saturday in the Madeira Nursing Home.
She leaves two sons, Kenneth Kelley and Lee Donovan Kelley, both of Cincinnati; a brother, Asher Athy of Cincinnati; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Saturday, 21 October 1961Beattyville - Mrs. Hattie L. Fowler, 72, widow of Albert Fowler, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ruby McIntosh, after a long illness. She was a native of Owsley County and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Other survivors are two sons, Roy and Wendell Fowler, Beattyville; a brother, Willie Venable, Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Fraley, Winchester, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the McGuire Memorial Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Edwin Grigsby and the Rev. Robert McClure. Burial was to be in the Venable Cemetery near Vincent, Owsley County.

Thursday, 8 October 1942Mrs. Julia Cole Fox, 39, wife of Ben Fox, died at her home near Zoe Sunday, October 4, following a brief illness.
She was the daughter of Serilda Estes Cole and the late J. B. Cole, and was married to Ben Fox in 1922. She was a member of the Christian Church for the past 20 years.
Funeral services were conducted at the home at 10 o'clock Monday morning by Rev. Sam Wilson, pastor of the Beattyville Christian Church. Burial was in the family cemetery near Oil.
Besides her husband and her mother she is survived by nine children, Cornell and Cordell Fox, Mrs. Ralph Maloney, Cincinnati, Ohio; Oneida, Lorena, Geraldine, Peggy and Bobby Fox, all at home; five sisters, Mrs. Hattie Asbell, Mrs. Laura Phillips, Mrs. Alice Chaney, Beattyville, Mrs. Georgie Rice, Ashland, and Mrs. Minnie Chaney, Hamilton, Ohio, and four brothers, Clifton Cole of Whitesburg, Logan Cole of Wise, West Virginia, James Cole of Hazard and Dewey Cole of Sand Lick.

Thursday, 12 January 1956Funeral services for Lige Fox, 54, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the home by Rev. Ike Gabbard.
Mr. Fox was born June 22, 1902 and died at his home Jan. 9, after a short illness.
Survivors include his wife, Josie Fox, three sons, Charlie and Joe Joe Fox at home and Carl Fox of Lerose; two daughters, Clarie and Martha Fox at home; three half-brothers, Ike Fox of Indiana, Ed Fox of Beattyville and Pat Fox of Lee County. Three half-sisters, Mrs. Rhoda McIntosh, Mrs. Mae McIntosh and Mrs. Flora McIntosh all of Lower Buffalo, and three grandchildren.
Burial was in the Campbell cemetery at Lerose with King Justice Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Newnam Funeral Home at Beattyville.

Thursday, 22 April 1937Geobel Fraley, age 37 years, of Pleasant Flats, was fatally shot by Dewey Richardson, age 26 years, Saturday night about 8:00 p.m. near the Pryse Drug Store in Beattyville. He was taken to the Pattie A. Clay hospital, in Richmond, where he died som time Sunday night.
The details of the shooting have not been learned.
He leaves surviving him his parents, Stephen and Dora Fraley, three children, Ledford, Juanita, and Imogene. Six sisters and four brothers survive him: Mrs. Frank Horton and Mrs. Clarence Shoemaker, of Beattyville, Mrs. Floyd Farmer and Mrs. J. H. Hobbs of McKee, Mrs. Chesley Burgess of Butler, Pa., Miss Hattie Fraley of Beattyville, Price, Dewey, June and Beckham, all of Beattyville.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ramah Johnson of Zachariah, interment being in the old Akers graveyard near the home place.
The funeral arrangements were in charge of Congleton Bros.

Thursday, 16 January 1936On January 12th, Henry Fraley, known to his many acquaintances as "Fee", departed this life. His death came as a shock to all, as he had been in good health apparently. At the time of his death he was near 70 years of age.
He was married to Mrs. Icey Dora Kincaid Freeman some years ago, and to this union there were born three children, Tobert Fraley, of this county, Barney Fraley of Houston, California, and Mrs. Amanda Lansaw, of Heidelberg.
He was a son of Thomas and Caroline Fraley, both of whom passed away several years ago. He was a farmer and carpenter by trade. Besides the relatives named above he leaves a host of relatives in this and adjoining counties.
His remains were laid to rest in Whiteash graveyard last Monday at two o'clock in the presence of a number of his relatives and friends. Rev. Leslie Smith was the officiating ministere at the funeral.
Peace be to his ashes.

Thursday, 1 August 1935Imogene, the three-months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Taulbert Fraley, was buried in the White Ash graveyard Monday afternoon, July 29.
Funeral services were held at the grave being conducted by the Rev. Arthur T. Tipton.
The child died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pendergrass Monday.

Thursday, 7 October 1954Lonnie Fraley, former Lee Countian, died Sept. 23, at Kennedy Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri.
He was the son of the late John P. Fraley.
His survivors include his wife, Selma, Thayer, Missouri; sons; Lewis Gene, San Francisco; Donald Washington; and Dan, Thayer, Miss.; [sic] daughters; Lenora, Phoenix, Arizona; Catherine and Jane Ellen, Thayer, Missouri.
Other survivors are his mother, Vivian; brothers, Bill, George, Charlie, Dudley, Claude and Forest; and sisters, Mildred, Ellena, Mary and Kathleen.

Thursday, 31 August 1950Rogers Dixon Fraley, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. June Fraley, was drowned last Thursday afternoon in the North Fork of the Kentucky River.
Fraley and two companions, Eugene Ross and Kenneth Holaway, were swimming in the river a short distance from their homes near Zoe when the Fraley boy evidently became exhausted and called for help. In his panic the boy pulled one of his would be rescuers under twice. The boys reported they were unable to save him and spread the alarm. Three hours later the body was found in about eight feet of water.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home of Rev. Ramah Johnson. Burial followed in the Day burying gournd near his home, with Congleton Brothers funeral home in charge.
The boy, a junior high school pupil, is survived by his parents, two sisters, Louise and Shirley, and two brothers, Willis and Paul.

Thursday, 11 September 1947Stephen Fraley, 69, died at his home near Beattyville, September 5, after an illness of a few months.
He was born May 18, 1878, and was the son of the late Henry and Helen [sic] Gum Fraley. He was married to Miss Dora Maloney, March 7, 1894.
Nine children survive -- four sons, Price, June and Beckham of Beattyville, and Dewey, of Germantown, Ohio; five daughters, Mrs. Joe Hobb, Beattyville; Mrs. Elmer Pelfrey, Leeco; Mrs. Floyd Farmer, Palm Harbor, Fla.; Mrs. Chesley Burgess, Butler, Pa., and Mrs. Frank Horton, Indianapolis, Ind. Two sisters, Mrs. Willie Day, Beattyville, and Mrs. Alf Mastin, Irvine, three brothers, Tommie, John P. and Dock, all of Ohio. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Christian church for 45 years. By occupation he was a farmer and during the oil boom in this county, was engaged in the oil business for several years.
He was buried Sunday afternoon in the family burying ground near his home. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Sam Wilson of St. Helens. Funeral arrangements by Congleton Brothers.

Thursday, 22 February 1990Lee Francis, 91, of Beattyville, Ky., passed away Friday, February 16, 1990.
Born July 25, 1898, he was the son of Harrison Francis and Orlena Williams and the husband of Thelma Lee Francis. Mr. Francis was a retired weighman, Ky. Stone Company, Stone Quarry and a member of the Pine Crest Church of God.
Survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma L. Francis, Beattyville, Ky.; two sons, Robert Francis, Middletown, Ohio; John Francis, Lexington, Ky.; one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Lee Carmer, Sonoma, California; one step-daughter, Mrs. Harriet Coppock, Dayton, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 19, 1990 at 11 a.m. in the Pine Crest Church of God with the Revs. Garland Lacy, Gene Morton and Jesse Rogers officiating. Burial followed in the Francis Cemetery, Fincastle Road, with the Newnam Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Durb Nolan, Charles Ratliff, Skip Francis, Rob Francis, Don Coppock, Paul Schulzer, Woodrow Gross, and Tubby Abner.

Thursday, 11 October 1951Funeral services were held Monday at the Yellow Rock Church of God for Mrs. Lee Francis who died at her home near Bear Track on October 6. Mrs. Francis was 51 years old and a member of the Church of God.
The service included a solo by Edward Updyke of Heidelberg, a scripture reading by Rev. Anderson of the Ky. Stone Co., and a prayer by Rev. Woolsey of Irvine. The obituary was read by Ovie Farmer of Richmond, Indiana, and Rev. Ramah Johnson, pastor of the Zoe Church of God, preached the funeral oration.
The survivors include her husband, Lee Francis; a daughter, Wanda Lee Carmer of San Diego, California; three sons, Robert and John of Middletown, Ohio, and Richard of Richmond, Indiana.
Other survivors include three brothers and four sisters and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Algin Arvin, Herbert Arvin, Earl Young, David Young, Hiram Estes, and Fred Estes.
Mrs. Francis was buried in the family cemetery near Fincastle with the King Justice Funeral Home in charge of burial arrangements.

Thursday, 14 September 1939Mrs. Olena Francis, 82, died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, September 7 at her home in Fincastle. Death was due to internal disorders from when she had suffered for several months.
Born in Perry County in 1857, she was the daughter of George and Louisa Williams. In her early life she was married to John Campbell of Perry; following his death she became the wife of Harrison Francis who died in 1910. She was a member of the Bethlehem Christian Church of Fincastle.
Funeral services were conducted Friday at the grave by the Rev. J. C. Everman. Congleton Brothers of Beattyville were in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by five children: Marshall D. Campbell, Arvanda, Colorado, Mrs. Rebecca Jane Durbin, Norwood, Ohio, Robert Francis, Jackson, Ky., Misses Vesta and Lou Francis, Fincastle, Harry Francis, Chesapeake, West Virginia and Lee Francis of Yellow Rock.
Elizabeth Mae Crawford FRANKLIN
Elizabeth Mae Franklin, 89, of Winchester, widow of James Franklin, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 1:52 p.m. at the Clark Regional Medical Center.
A native of Beattyville, KY., she was born June 22, 1924, to the late Earl Crawford and Deloris Minter. She was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church in Winchester.
She is survived by two children, Margaret Beatty of Winchester and Roberta Cornelious of Lexington, brother, Fred (Mammie) Crawford of Lexington, ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren, and 5 great-great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at the First Church of God, 2500 Colby Road, Winchester, with Pastor Martin O. King presiding. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.

Thursday, 10 December 1953Mrs. Mary Freeman died December 3 at Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mrs. Freeman was born in Proctor, September 8, 1875. She married W.M. Freeman about 45 years ago in Booneville. Her parents were Peter and Elizabeth Roach.
Funeral services were held in Congleton Brothers Funeral Chapel, December 8, with Rev. Donald Nash saying the rites. Mrs. Freeman was buried in the Roach Cemetery.
Survivors are: her husband, W. M. Freeman; one son, Richard Freeman; two brothers, Ed Roach and Harry Roach; two sisters, Mrs. H. B. Jones and Mrs. Nettie Belle Smith.

Thursday, 26 June 1952Funeral services were held Friday, June 21, at Pebworth for Robert Freeman, 63, who died June 19, at his home in Middletown, Ohio.
Originally from Lee County, Mr. Freeman had been away from the county for several years prior to his death last week.
The survivors include a sister, Mrs. Amanda Landsaw, Cincinnati; two brothers, Tolbert Fraley, Beattyville, and Barney Fraley, Modesta, California.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Helen Combs of Pebworth, Hazel Newnam, Hamilton, Helen McKee and Gladys Cornett, both of Cincinnati. The surviving nephew is Jack Bowling, Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Freeman was buried at White Ash with Rev. Boaz Smith in charge of the services and King Justice Funeral Home in charge of burial arrangements.

William Freeman Dies At Age Of 75William Freeman, 75, died Saturday night in Lexington after a long illness. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are a son, Richard R. Freeman, Cincinnati, a sister, Mrs. Maggie Frost, Winchester, and two grandchildren
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Newnam Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald A. Nash officiating. Burial was in the Roach cemetery.

Dexter Frisby, 71, of Ida May, in Lee County, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2003 at his residence.
He was born May 21, 1932, in Ida May, KY, to the late James and Mollie Estes Frisby. He was a retired Sgt. 1st Class in the U. S. Army, having served in the Korean and Vietnam War. During his 22 year enlistment, he was a Paratrooper, Green Beret, and a member of the Special Forces. He was also a member of the VFW, DAV, NRA, and the Cressmont Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Bertha Fox Frisby; a step-son, Tony Eugene Turner of Booneville, KY; two step-daughters, Tammy Lee Svatba and Ester Carolyn Combs, both of Beattyville, KY; 3 step-grandchildren; and 2 great step-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Aileen Mays of Middletown, OH, Bobbie Jean Evans and Gertrude Wilson, both of Beattyville, KY, and Beatrice Tirey of Burlington, KY; and a host of friends and relatives.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Jessie Frisby, and six sisters, Estella Moore, Flora Cornett, Cordia Murphy, Oda May Frisby, Eudell Ross and Lucille Treadway.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., at the Booneville Funeral, with Gary Marshall officiating. Visitation was Monday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Burial with military rites by the Beattyville VFW, Post # 11296, was held at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Booneville, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Rondell Combs, Rondell Combs II, Johnny Byrd, Coleman Burke, Ricky Newman, and Tony Turner. A coal miner by trade, Mr. Frisby was born in Jellico, Tennessee, and was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mollie Estes Frisby, two sons, Vernon and Dexter Frisby of Idamay, and nine daughters who include Mrs. Flora Cornett, Mrs. Bobbie Gene Evans, Mrs. Bee Tirey, all of Cincinnati, Mrs. Gertie Isaacs and Mrs. Eudell Ross of Heidelberg; Mrs. Stella Moore and Mrs. Aline Mays of Middletown, Mrs. Cordia Murphy of Jackson, and Mrs. Lucille Treadway of Heidelberg. He is also survived by five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held for Mr. Frisby April 17, on the Idamay School with Rev. George Fox officiating. Burial was in the Damrel Cemetery near Idamay with Congleton Bros. Funeral Home in charge of burial arrangements.

His survivors are two brothers, Vernon and Dexter Frisby, nine sisters, Mrs. Chester Cornett of Heidelberg, Mrs. Johnie Murphy of Heidelberg, Mrs. Muncy Treadway of Heidelberg, Mrs. Murle Ross of Idamay, Mrs. Winfred Tirey of Cincinnati, Mrs. Willie Isaacs, Bobby Jean, Ailene and Estella of Idamay. One sister who died some time ago.

She was the widow of James Frisby and a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are nine daughters, Mrs. Flora Cornett, Mrs. Bobbie Evans and Mrs. Bee Tirey, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Udell Ross, Idamay; Mrs. Cordia Murphy, Jackson; Mrs. Lucille Treadway, Lexington; Mrs. Eline Mays, Middletown, Ohio; Mrs. Stella Moore, Monroe, Ohio, and Mrs. Gertie Wilson, Levi; two sons, Dexter Frisby, Idamay, and Vernon Frisby, Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Cordelia Cornett, Idamay; three brothers, David Estes, Columbus, Ohio; Fred Estes and Robert Estes, both of Idamay; 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. at the Idaymay Bible Church by the Rev. George Fox. Burial was in the Damrel cemetery in Lee County.

Thursday, 30 May 1935Idamay, May 28 -- Funeral services for Oda May Frisby, 10, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Frisby, was held at the Dameral graveyard near Delvinta today. The Rev. Arthur T. Tipton, Beattyville, officiated.
Oda May was the 10th child of 13 and the 12 survive her, three brothers and nine sisters. They are Jesse, Vernon, and Dexter Frisby, Idamay; Mrs. Flora Cornett and Mrs. Cordelia Murphy, Heidelberg; Mrs. Gertrude Price, Misses Beatrice, Udell, Lucile, Estella, Aliene, and Bobby Jean Fristy, all of Idamay. Her parents also survive her.

Thursday, 11 January 1973Vernon Frisby, 55, Route 1 Beattyville died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, January 6th at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
He was a native of Lee Cuonty, a veteran of World War II, a member of the Cressmont Baptist Church.
He is survived by one brother, Dexter Frisby, Beattyville; nine sisters, Mrs. Flora Cornett, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Gertrude Wilson, Booneville; Mrs. Stella Moore and Mrs. Aline Mays, Middletown, Ohio; Mrs. Lucille Treadway, Lexington; Mrs. Bobbie Jean Evans, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Cordia Murphy, Jackson; Mrs. Bee Tirey and Mrs. Udell Ross, both of Beattyville.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 9th at the Cressmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Lewis Becknell officiating. Burial was in the Damrel Cemetery with Newnam Funeral Home in charge.

Thursday, 8 November 1956Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Frost, 57, were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, at the King Justice Chapel by Rev. Joe Powlas.
Mrs. Frost was a member of the Booneville Presbyterian Church and a member of the Booneville OES.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Frost, of Clark County; three sons, Clair Frost of the navy, stationed in California; Lawrence Frost of the navy, stationed at Great Lakes, Ill.; and Donald Frost of Dayton, O.; one daughter, Miss Edna Frost of Clark County; one brother, Lawrence Gabbard of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and one sister, Mrs. Edgar Kilburn of Austin, Ind.
Burial was in the Combs Cemetery at Pebworth with King Justice Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Thursday, 14 July 1955Nancy Frost, 96, passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brack Gabbard on Cow Creek, Thursday morning July 7.
Services were conducted by Rev. Joe Powlas and Rev. Ed Mayes.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Reynolds of Winston, one son, Sim Frost of Cow Creek and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her death.
Burial was in the Amis cemetery on Indian Creek.

Thursday, 31 March 1955Nancy Ann Frost, 82, died at her home on Cow Creek Monday, March 28, after a long illness.
Survivors include seven sons, Floyd, Dayton, Ohio; Carl and Clyde, Winchester, Ky.; Fred, Manchester, Ky.; and Irwin, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Graydon, Edwards, California; three daughters, Mrs. Eva Reynolds and Mrs. Ethel Turner, Cow Creek; and Mrs. Irene Turner, Booneville; two sisters, Mrs. I. H. Gabbard, Booneville and Mrs. Sarah Jennings, Arnett, Ky.; three brothers, James M. Eversole and Wm. Eversole, Arnett, Ky., and Charlie Eversole, Irvine, Kentucky.
Funeral services were conducted at the Cow Creek Presbyterian Church, Wednesday, March 30, at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. Joe Powlas and burial was in Cow Creek Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were: Carl Sebastain, Eugene Moore, Shelby Moore, Quinten Callahan, Glen Reynolds and Ralph Reynolds.

Tuesday, 15 April 1958Booneville, April 14 - Mrs. Martha Jane Frye, 79, Beattyville, died at 9 a.m. today at her home after a long illness. She was a native of Clay County and a member of the First Church of God, Proctor.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pearlie Hacker, Beattyville, and Mrs. Mary McIntosh, Clay County, and two sons, Henry and Arthur Frye, Beattyville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God, Proctor, by the Rev. Nathan Reece. Burial will be in the Tom Smith Cemetery, Lee County. The body is at the residence of Arthur Frye, Beattyville.

Friday, 29 June 1934St. Helens, June 25 - Walker Fulks, 20 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Fulks was struck and run over by a train at 11:45 o'clock Saturday night. He was seen by Taylor Butler lying on the track in the glare of the engine headlight just a few seconds before he was struck.
Funeral services were held at the grave by Rev. W.C. Burgess at 2 o'clock this afternoon and burial was in the Hopewell graveyard.

Friday, 29 June 1934Beattyville, June 26 - Judge Green Kilburn, at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon, set the date for the examining trial of Bob Thomas, 34 years old, Virgil Land, 25, and Bennie Land, 19, for Friday. They were arrested Sunday afternoon charged with the killing of Walker Fulks and leaving his body on the railroad track near St. Helens Saturday night.
The two Land boys are brothers, sons of the late Mort Land, who died several years ago while he was Jailer for Lee county. Thomas is a cousin of the other two boys.

Funeral services were held at the home Friday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Leslie Smith. Burial was at Crystal, Ky. Garrett Funeral Home, Beattyville, was in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by six sons: C. C. of Richmond, H. B. Lockland, Ohio, Camery and O. C. of Middletown, Ohio, Rolan and Charles, Rochester, Mich.; one daughter, Artie Deaton, Dia Block, Ky.; two sisters, Polly of Crandon, Wis., and Sarah of Beattyville; and five brothers, Charles, Hamilton, Ohio, Ed, Crandon, Wis., William, San Antonio, Texas, Alvin, Crystal, Ky., and Harrison of Old Landing.

Thursday, 20 January 1955George W. Fultz, 88?, blacksmith and carpenter, of Fillmore, died Friday at Rochester, Mich., where he was visiting.
He was a member of the Fillmore Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mollie Combs Fulks; six daughters, Mrs. Armstrong Chapman, Mrs. Oliver Baldridge and Mrs. Albert Stamper, all of Rochester, Mich. Mrs. James Sapp, Utica, Mich., and Mrs. Wilmer Cropper, Maysville; two sons, Earl and Otto Fulks, Rochester, Mich., and a brother, Harry Fulks, Vandalia, Ohio; a sister and 29 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the residence at Fillmore by the Rev. Dorsey Childers. Burial was in the family cemetery. King Justice Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
