Beattyville Wreck Fatal To Owsley County Man
Burgoyne WILSON, 31, of Lerose, Owsley County, was killed in an automobile accident on Grand Avenue in this city (Beattyville) in front of the residence of Fr. W.D. McCOLLUM about 2:30 o'clock Tuesday morning.
According to reports made by Willard HALE, 26, and Elmer MOORE, 24, both of Cow Creek, who were passengers in the car with WILSON, the Owsley County man was killed when the car overturned while negotiating a street torn up for WPA sewer construction. HALE suffered a slight injury to left arm, MOORE was not injured.
The accident victim is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie TAYLOR Wilson, one boy, Billy; his mother, Mrs. Lottie WILSON; and nine brothers and sisters; Abel, Berea; Jerry, Oakley, Robert, Lawrence, Cow Creek; Mrs. Wilson TURNER, Doe Creek; Mrs. Chas. McINTOSH, Ricetown; and Edna and Ellen, at home.
Funeral services were held at the home of his mother Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Cary BLAINE, of Levi. Burial followed in the family graveyard near the home. The Garrett Funeral Home of this city had charge of the burial services.
