F. Brandenburg Dies Suddenly
Frank BRANDENBURG, 70, Booneville postmaster, died at his home in Booneville Wednesday afternoon, May 6. He suffered a paraletic stroke while on duty at the postoffice approximately four hours prior to his death.
Born on October 17, 1872, Mr. BRANDENBURG became a member of the Baptist Church in Oklahoma approximately 47 years ago. At the time of his death he was a member of the Neew Zion Baptist Church. He was an active member of the Odd Fellows having entered the order over thirty-five years ago. He was first appointed postmaster of the Booneville office on May 1, 1920 and served in that capacity until his death, a period of twenty years.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the New Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Wm. R. ROYCE of Richmond. Interment was in the family cemetery near Booneville.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cressie HEIDENRICH Brandenburg of Booneville; four sons Andrew, Clarence, Woodrow and Ollie James; two daughters, Misses WILCIE and Mae BRANDENBURG; three brothers, Rev. R. L. BRANDENBURG, Hopkinsville, Ky; Charles BRANDENBURG, Beattyville and Harve BRANDENBURG, Berea, and four sisters, Mrs. Ellen MOORE, Lerose; Mrs. Mandie COMBS, Winchester; Mrs. Ed RAY, Berea, and Mrs. RODIE CLICK, Berea, and five grandchildren.
