Mae HARVEY Whitis, age 70, of Hamilton, died at Fort Hamilton Hughes Memorial Hospital at 3:00 p.m. on December 15, 1990. She was born in Owsley County, Ky on April 27, 1920. She was the daughter of Robert and Grova FOX Harvey. She was educated in Owsley County, Ky. She married Willard C. WHITIS on April 16, 1950 in Newport, Ky. She worked for Champion Paper Co for 40 years retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Owsley County, Ky. She is survived by her husband, Willard C. WHITIS; a grandson, Mr. Wesley GENTRY of Indianapolis, Ind; two granddaughters, Ms. Nina GENTRY, of Indianapolis, Ind and Mrs. Richard (Nicola) SCOTT, of Macon, GA; a daughter-in-law Mrs. Doris GENTRY, of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Rosemary ROBERTS of Beattyville, Ky, Mrs. Irene WAGNER, Mrs. Ruth GILL, both of Hamilton; two brothers, Ralph and Bob HARVEY, both of Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill GENTRY and two brothers, Earl and Ray HARVEY. Funeral services were held at the Webb-Groves-Noonan Funeral Home with burial in the Rose Hill Burial Park. |
