1880 Perry County Ky Census

We have tried to transcribe exactly what the enumerator put on the census forms 
when he took the information from the people. 
And if names had different spellings we put a note in the comments. 

Dist #1 you will see a house number and a family number (e.g., 1-1/1) we put the /1
in so we could tell Dist #1 apart from Dist#2 in the index and is not a part of the original census.

In 1884 Knott Co., was formed from parts of Breathitt, Floyd and Perry Counties.  
So if you find a relative in the 1880 Perry and can't find them in the 1900 Perry, 
then most likely they didn't move,  the county changed.

Explanations of Abbreviations Used

Relationship to the Head of the household (normally, 
Some examples of what may be in this field are: Head, Wife, Son, Dau, NR (Not Reported),
GSon (Grand Son), GDau (Grand Daughter), MinLaw (Mother in Law), FinLaw (Father in Law),
SinLaw (Son in Law or SisterinLaw), SDau (Step Dau) SSon (Step Son). 

Sex = Gender of the person in question. e.g., M = Male, F = Female.
Race = W = White, B = Black, C = Colored, Mu = Mulatto, M/W = Mulatto/White or 
Mixed/White.
Age = Usually in years and months. 
2/30 put in the age field means the child was 2 days out of 30 old.
M/S = Marital status (M/S used by the transcriber to save space, not a usual census 
abbreviation). M = Married, S = Single, W = Widow, D = Divorced.
