Signed. Thomas Davidson Abner W. Cartney John Akeman William Callihan Samuel Davidson Silas Davidson John Strong John Spencer Abner McCartney |
[This conveyance was proved by Henry Duff on 13 Nov. 1832.]
SE Notes:
I do not know why the oath date was earlier than the date of the conveyance. It may have been a mistake.
The above mentioned Daniel Davidson was the same as Daniel Davidson the documented Revolutionary War soldier. He was very likely the son of James Davison I of Washington and Russell Cos., Virginia, who died in 1794. Daniel and his family, along with many other families from Russell Co. who also lived along Big Moccasin Creek, removed to Clay Co., Kentucky, in the 1805-1807 timeframe.
Witnesses: Members of the Strong and Duff families intermarried with the Davidsons. The Akemans were a neighboring family of close acquaintance. Claiborn Davidson was a grandson or great-grandson of Daniel Davidson.
Heirs and representatives:
Thomas, Samuel, and Silas Davidson were sons of Daniel Davidson.
Abner W. Cartney and Abner McCartney may be the same person duplicated or may be two different individuals. One Abner McCartney married Ibby Stacy, the daughter of Peter Stacy. Their marriage is of record in Clay Co., Ky.
John Akeman sold land to Samuel Davidson for $1.00 on 8 Aug. 1829 in Perry Co. [PC-DBA:369].
William Callihan, member of Callihan family that intermarried with the Davidsons. Daniel’s son Samuel married Eliza, daughter of Edward and Mahala (Brock) Callihan.
John Strong married Susanna Davidson, d/o Daniel Davidson.
John Spencer may be the same John who married Sarah Stacy, daughter of Peter Stacy. Their marriage is of record in Clay Co., Ky. White Davidson married a Mary Spencer.
The above notes are added only to provide clarification and are not to be considered definitive statements about Daniel’s family. His descendants have been extensively researched.
