(y) Johnson County was created by legislative
act, Mar. 2, 1855. It was organized and its boundaries were
defined by the legislature, Feb. 1857. In the election held Nov.
4, 1856, Johnson County was called Tecumseh Pct. Nemaha Co. These
were among the 27 voters on the polling list. - Andreas, pp. 1004:
