Elnathan Strong Gravestone reads: In Memory of Elnathan Strong who died Oct 20 1839 In the 75th years of his age ------------- "Friends or Physicians could not save my mortal body from the grave. Nor can this earth confine me her When Christ shall call I shall appear."
[Note: Elnathan Strong served in the Connecticut Line and received a pension. He settled in Columbia county, married and had nine children. He lived in Hillsdale and at the age of 55 joined the Claverack Dutch Reformed Church as a communicant member. However his tombstone is in the Krum Dutch Reformed Cemetery. Photo contributed by Rev.
