These are obituaries that I and many others have donated. Mine were transcribed from old newspapers. I got the microfilms through interlibrary loan from the University of Oregon. There are also many others who have donated. If there is no contributor on it, it is something I have transcribed. If there is no link on the contributor's name, they have no further information about that person. It is someone extra on a copy of their families information.

Alvin Shaw returned from California Tuesday with the remains of Thos. Shaw, and the funeral took place Friday, under Pythian auspices, sermon by Rev. J. C. Walker.

Mr. G.W. Hunt, who has been in the city for several days, left for his home in Walla Walla last evening. Mr. M.C. Shaw, who was killed by a Geary street cable car in San Franscisco a few days since, was in the employ of Mr. Hunt for four years as locating engineer, and located all the lines of the Hunt system of railroads, except about 40 miles. He was one of the best locating engineers in the country, and a very bright, genial fellows, highly esteemed by all who knew him. Mr. Hunt telegraph to Engineer W.H. kennedy, in San Franscisco, to have the remains of Mr. Shaw embalmed, enclosed in a nice casket, and forwarded to Walla Walla at his expense, where they will be buried. Mr. Shaw has many friends at Walla Walla, who will appreciate this act of thoughtfulness on the part of Mr. Hunt for one of his old employes. - Oregonian.
