Hattie Wise, 78, of 905 Division, died Thursday at the Valley View Manor.
Mrs. Wise was born on April 29, 1896, at Summerville, the daughter of Charles and Mary Duggan. She was a resident of Union Count all of her life. On Oct. 3, 1915, she married James Wise at Summerville. Mrs. Wise was a member of the First Christian Church of La Grande.
Survivors besides her husband include: a son, Harold Wise of La Grande; grandson, James C. Wise; sisters, Margaret Golden of Portland, Mary Hurely of La Grande, Audie Behrens of Summerville, Ruth Rollins of Summerville; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Hart officiating. Concluding services will follow at the Summerville Cemetery.

James Wise, of 905 Division St., died Monday, Aug. 25, at Grande Ronde Hospital. He was 90.
Mr. Wise was born Feb. 24, 1890 in Marion County, Ky., the son of David Parker and Debby Ritter (Benningfield) Wise. He came to this area in 1904. He was married to Hattie Jeanette Dugan Oct. 3, 1914 at Summerville. She preceded her husband in death in 1975.
Mr. Wise was a heavy equipment mechanic for Grande Ronde Lumber Co., and Mt. Emily Lumber Co.
Survivors include his son Harold of La Grande, grandson James Calvin Wise of La Grande, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services are scheduled Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Hart of the First Christian Church officiating. Concluding services will follow at the Summerville Cemetery.
