Quednow, Ruth K. (Schreiner) (19 NOV 1928 - 24 MAY 2012)

Ruth K. Quednow, 83, Rib Lake, died on Thursday, May 24 at Memorial Health Center in Medford.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher and Deacon Mark Priniski. Cremainal inurnment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake.

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Hemer & Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

The former Ruth Schreiner was born on November 19, 1928 in the Town of Greenwood to the late George and Frances (Haider) Schreiner. She was a graduate of Rib Lake High School.

On August 10, 1946 at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church in Rib Lake, she married John P. Quednow Sr., who preceded her in death on October 10, 1985. They owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Greenwood until 1980, and she was also a homemaker.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and Greenwood Homemakers Club. She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, listening to polka music and her chickens.

Survivors include seven children, Gail (Jerome) Dassow of Stetsonville, Phyllis (Alex) Damrow of West Bend, and Diane (Ron) Eisner, Jayne Brandner, Jolene Quednow, Virginia Spacher and John Jr., all of Rib Lake; four siblings, Elmer of Loyal, Ella Guy of Rib Lake, Emmie Schoonover of Casper, Wyo., and Alfred "Fritz" of Niles, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael in infancy; three grandchildren; and nine siblings, Ray, Lawrence "Bud," George, Art, Leo, Clarence, John, Otto "Harold," Agnus Krause and Mary Costley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her family to be designated at a later date.
