Reas-Mueller

Miss Hilda Henrietta Mueller daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Mueller, Albangassie, Germany, exchanged nuptial vows with Ralph Loren Reas son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Reas, Saturday afternoon, July 23, at 3:30 o’clock in the Mellen Union Church.

The Rev. O. R. Thome performed the ceremony, Mrs. Benjamin Hochstettler, sister of the groom, was matron of honor and Juanita Reas, sister of the groom, and Margie Braun cousin of the groom, were the bridesmaids. Earl Jr., served his brother as best man and Wallace Markrstead and Benjamin Hochstettler were ushers.

The bride chose for her wedding a gown of white crepe faille fashioned with fitted bodice, long fitted sleeves and three tiered skirt edged in lace ending in a court train. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a cornet of seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of yellow and white roses. Mrs. Hochstettler wore a gown of pastel pink crepe and a colonial bouquet of pink and white roses. Miss Reas and Miss Braun wore matching gowns of orchid and pastel blue and carried colonial bouquets of pink roses. Both wore should veils of white flower bandeaus.

A reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents during the evening. After a wedding trip to northern Minn., they will return to Mellen until August when the groom will attend radio school at Biloxi Miss.

The bride was educated in the school in Philadelphia until 10 years old, and then in German schools. She served as a censor in prison camps in Germany.

The groom is a graduate of the Mellen high school receiving his diploma this spring through the U. S. A. F. I. He returned recently from Germany where he has served for the past two years.

Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luepke, Mrs. Myrtle Young, Mrs. Henry Braun and daughter, Margie and Mrs. John Sautner, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Hemphill and granddaughter, Medford; Ed. Reas, Park Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Koin, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Giese, Mary Lou Sell, Mrs. J. Olsen and Mrs. H. Quin of Ashland; Mrs. Darrell Reas and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Pearly Reas, Marengo; Edward Kubiak, Wallace Markstead & Audrey Braun, all of Milwaukee; and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bover, Marensco, Michigan.

The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
