1917 View of Dorchester, Mayville Twp., Clark Co., Wisconsin
The photo above was taken looking east and the service station at the left was the original school house and which was moved to that site in 1918. In 1923 the building was sold to Edgar Paulson who converted it into a garage and opened for business in 1924. The fire hydrant in the picture is an indication that it was taken after the water system was installed in 1939. I would suggest the time frame would have been 1940. The road is County Trunk "A" and is at the junction of Cty Trunk "A" and 2nd St. Information provided by Dorchester, Historian, Jim Jantsch.
