Notes on the Bliss Reunion This reunion was for the descendents of Walter Kempton Bliss (Born in Boston January 22, 1880 and died February 13, 1933 in Boston MA) and Bertha Searle Brighty Bliss (born November 19, 1890 in Northbridge MA and died October 24, 1961 in Winthrop, MA) Of the 7 children they had, (Stanley Kempton, Phyllis Audrywalworth, Allison Tripp, Lorraine Sanford, Robert Ezra, Donald Woodburn, and Priscilla Brighty) only Phyllis (Collins) and Lorraine (Gruner) are alive today. Neither was able to attend the Ohio reunion. Attendees came from as far away as California, Vermont and Alabama The reunion was held at Lake Brady United Methodist church in Brady Lake which is between Kent and Ravenna, Ohio USA (near Akron). Friday evening before the “official” reunion was a hot dog and hamburger picnic for early bird arrivals. Saturday at 10 am people began arriving and setting up family picture displays. Lunch was pizza, rigatoni, chicken, jojos, and salads. Barb Self organized games including mystery photos and a trivia contest. Pat Odiorne gave a brief talk about family genealogy. Mary Jane Bliss had a “Bliss Reunion 2003” embroidery and family tree handouts available as keepsakes. Personal trivia, “Who is THAT?” photo contest were played along with softball, and wagon riding.
