Devis Franzetta (WILLIS) McCOY -- The Iola Register -- June 24, 1944,

Bayard -- There was a large attendance at the funeral of Mrs.Devia McCoy, held
Saturday afternoon at Fairview chapel, conducted by Rev. J. E. Woods. Deva
Franzetta WILLIS was born March 8, 1868, in Hancock Co., Illinois, and died
June 14, 1944, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence RIGGS, in Pleasant
Prairie district. When she was 13 her family to Kansas and lived on the farm
one mile north of Bayard. She was married to James. A. McCOY, Feb 21, 1892, and
all their married life was spent in the Bayard community. He died Sept 1930.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Hannon, Hot Springs, S. Dakota,
Mrs.Ruth RIGGS of Moran, and Mrs. Gracie FRAME, Neosho Falls, and one son,
Charles Mccoy, Uniontown; also 18 grandchildren, one grandson Everette HANNON,
is serving in the U.S. Army in New Guinea. She was held in high esteem by all
who knew her. Many friends join in extending sympathy to the family group.
