J.W.WILLIS IS DEAD
John W.WILLIS
died at the home of his son, Samuel L.WILLIS, of 310 North Cottonwood street
yesterday afternoon after an illness of about three months with acute stomach
trouble. During the three months' illness Mr. WILLIS suffered intensely and
death came as a relief.
The
deceased was 76 years of age at the time of his death and had been a resident
of this county for the past twenty-three years. He was born in Kentucky and
removed from that state with his parents to Illinois at an early age.
Practically all his life in this county was spent on his farm near Bayard.
During the past seven months he has made his home with his son, S.L.WILLIS of
this city. he is survived by two sons, S.L. and J.A.WILLIS, proprietors of the
"Cheap Charley" furniture store on North street.
The
funeral services will be conducted from the Fairview church northeast of Bayard
tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. The interment will be made in Fairview
cemetery. Rev. Sutton of Toronto will preach the sermon.
