Funeral Rites Conducted For R. N. Whicker

Funeral services for Robert Nathan WHICKER, 83, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Rock Springs Baptist Church by Rev. Clarence KILBURN.

Mr. WHICKER, the son of the late Newell and Mary Ann CAPPS Whicker, was born in Owsley County, Nov. 27, 1874, and died at his home at Travellers Rest, Dec. 1, after on weeks illness.  He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rachel WHICKER, Travellers Rest;  four daughters, Mrs. Bixie PETERS, Greensboro, N.C.;  Mrs. Bessie EVANS, Hamilton, Ohio;  Mrs. Cody WILSON, Sturgeon;  Mrs. Mamie SMITH, High Point, N.C., two sons, Chester WHICKER, of Sturgeon and Sam WHICKER, of Beattyville;  one sister, Mrs. Lillie EDWARDS, Cincinnati, Ohio;  three brothers, Jim WHICKER, Washington, Ohio; Bill WHICKER, Travellers Rest, and Richard WHICKER, of Hamilton, Ohio;  21 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Burial was in the Whicker Cemetery at Green Hall with King Justice Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
