Now A Damage Suit
Added to the Series of Sensations in the Merrick Case
PRINCETON, Ky., Jan 5. - Robert MERRICK whose son Frank MERRICK, figured in
a series of sensations here last summer which culminated in the sudden death
of MERRICK while he was under arrest for forgery, filed suit today in Trigg
county against Deputy Sheriff JONES and DODDS and Dr. Charles J. POLLARD, of
Princeton and Dr. Wade JEFFERSON, of Wallonia.  He asks $5,000 damages for
his wounded feelings because of the arrest of his son and his being taken
away to jail when not in a condition to travel.  MERRICK and his family, it
is claimed, were much shocked by the actions of the officers who were
advised by the doctors.

MERRICK's wife sued for divorce and within a few days after his death
married again.  The case has been one of sensations all the way through.
