The legal description is 2 1/2 acres of the NE corner of NE1/2 of the N1/2 of the SE Quarter Section 4, Township 20 and Range 5 East. On August 3, 1970, another acre was purchased from F. Votruba. The information on the following pages was transcribed from the original record book acquired for copying in June 1979. This book is in the possession of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Dickey, who are the present keepers of the book. They gave permission for the book to be copied and transcribed for use for the general public. This book shows the burial and burial sites of the interred, and since the book was recorded in the Czech language up until the 1960's, it is translated and typed in English. This book was acquired through the help of Mildred Bartosh, Valerie Norskov, and Mildred and Emmett Dickey, all of Dodge, Nebraska. The following information was excerpted from the book, 'Czech Cemeteries in Nebraska' by Vladimir Kucera and Alfred Novacek - printed 1972. "The Bohemian National Cemetery in Dodge was established mainly through the efforts of the local Bohemian Slavonian Benevolent Society (now Western Bohemian Fraternal Association), on April 22, 1883, with the following founders: W.F. Kriz, Vaclav Luxa, Alois Pospisil, Antonin and Frank Bartos, Josef Brazda, Jan Studnicka, Frank and Josef Srb, Antonin Kadlacek, Josef Dolejs, Frank Belina, and Igac Skala. Antonin Bartos donated the land. On October 25, 1883, a deed was filed in the office of Dodge County from Anton Bartosh (Antonin Bartos) and wife to the Bohemian National Grave Yard Society. Said deed was dated April 26, 1883.
