BENEDICT

I am still searching for record of Daniel Benedict (born 18ll in Orange County, NY) who farmed there in Richardson County in the 1870's and 80's. He is listed with his wife Evelyn in the 1880 census. He died July 14, 1900 and is buried in the Salem Cemetery. I have tried in without luck to find an obituary on him which would give me his parentage for certain. I am pretty sure that his father was Wallace Benedict born in Warwick, Orange County, NY in 1776. Any help or suggestions gratefully received. Joan Bray DBray43217@aol.com

CASEY

I am looking for place-of-birth information of Michael Casey, Sr. buried Falls City Catholic Cemetery 1870, age 64y 9d. He supposedly migrated to Nebraska from Clinton County, IA about 1860-1868. Married to Ellen Mahoney after 1825, probably at Douro Township, Peterborough County, Ontario, where they both may have been "Peter Robinson Settlers" (from County Cork, Ireland to Newcastle District, Upper Canada, 1820-1830). 1870 Rrichardson county census lists them as being born in Ireland, but if anyone can lead me to any more specific information, I would be very grateful. Also need verification that Michael Casey Sr, and Ellen Mahoney Casey were the parents of Patrick Casey, born Mar 17, 1835, in Peterborough Ontario, also buried in Falls City Catholic Cemetery. Other children of Michael and Ellen are (we think) Eugene, John, James, Michael Jr, Mary (Barry?), Cathline, William, and others, all believed born in Ontario. Are there naturalization records available in Richardson county? Thank you,Mark E. Casey, RR 1, Box 95, Emerson NE 68733 mecasey@bloomnet.com
