Fujan-Gobel
Family
Photo
of old couple in front of farmstead and a close-up
of the couple, same photo. Emma Fujan Gobel (see below) had
this photograph in her effects when she died. The family has been
trying since then to identify this couple and the location. No
information on the photo and no photographer’s mark. Here is her
ancestral background.
All of my husband’s Fujan/Sieber ancestors came to America during
a 25-year period between 1863 and 1888 from Bohemia and Moravia or
what today is called the Czech Republic. They all eventually settled
in Glengary township in eastern Fillmore County in eastern Nebraska,
though some had first stayed in Illinois or Wisconsin.
