Impeachment. Pres. Johnson. N. Y. Times expresses the voice of the North on Impeachment - The subject is undisposed of. The report of the House Judiciary Committee is equivalent to a confession that the advocates of the proceedings have thus far failed to find solid ground. But they do not abandon their purpose, and the investigation will be renewed. The case, as it stands, is not favorable to the impeaching parties. Were the steps essential, in the interests of the country and of justice, the facts warranting it would be notorious and above board. The case can not be very strong when the grounds of it must be sought, in darkness and secret, through the agency of partisan detective and unscrupulous adventures.

Impeachment. Pres. Johnson. Scene in the Judiciary Committee's room. "General Ashley's Testimony - How he was Badgered by a "Copperhead." Washington, March, 1867. To the Times. The judiciary committee of the House has been for some time taking testimony on which to predicate charges of impeachment, for high crimes and misdemeaners against the president. Their sessions have been secret but assurance given from time to time that the matter was progressing satisfactory. Full testimony, questions and answers given.

Impeachment. Pres. Johnson. The opinion is steadily gaining that the 40th Congress will proceed to impeach Andrew Johnson, President of the United States. We shall not be astonished at anything which will tend to further distract and disrupt the Union. Radical and rabid, the present dominant party knows no law but the unbridled license of power and recognizes no Constitution as bind'-,nEr, upon their actions. Power and plunder are the goals which they strive for and seen successfully to attain. To the citizens, they give taxes, and in the din but not distant future they have for the American people, individual ruin and National Bankruptcy.
