Land Office at this place, vice our respected fellow citizen Col. Albert Tuxbury. Mr. Kennedy is reported to be a Conservative and. not a Radical. If the former, his vote will add one to the Democratic majority of Otoe County; if the latter, he will be the 225th radical of this propinquity.

Land Offices. Removal. By communication from our Representatives in Congress we learn that the Land offices at Omaha, Nebraska City and Brownville are to be removed to the western part of the State as follows: Omaha office to West Point. Nebraska City to Lincoln. Brownville to Beatrice. The public lands of the States are remote from the Missouri River and in the district where the offices are to be located and will have much to do with the development of the country to the west.

Land Sale Mr. Eugene Hayward of Pana. Ill., was at the Pacific House enroute from Nebraska, says St. Joe Vindicator where he had just bought and located 12,000 acres of land. Mr. Hayward owns some fifty thousand acres of the best farm land of Illinois which were bought by his father some forty years ago. Mr. Hayward estimates that his Nebraska lands for which he paid about seventy-nine cents per acre will in twenty rears be worth not less than thirty dollars per acre.

Bidding on many choice pieces was very spirited; especially on the timber lots and the section adjoining the City known as the "Downs farm."
