The aggregate membership in the preceding list of churches dropped is not large. Some names have been changed, merged into other churches; some after a time have been reorganized, and others have ceased to exist entirely. They illustrate the changes going on in a frontier state where population is not settled and show that the present list of living churches by no means indicates the active work of Congregationalists in the state.
