SECRETARY.
Opening. -- The eleventh session of the North Nebraska Conference of the Methodist Eipscopal (sic) church convened at St. Paul, Nebraska, Wednesday, September 14th, 1892, at 8:30 o'clock, A. M.
Devotional services were conducted by D. K. Tindall. At 9 o'clock Bishop H. W. Warren opened Conference by reading scripture lesson from the eleventh chapter of II Cor. and the Conference united in singing the first hymn, "Oh for a Thousand Tongues to Sing My Great Redeemer's Praise."
The Bishop then offered prayer and addressed the Conference, after which the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper was administered by the Bishop, assisted by the Presiding Elders.Roll. -- The Secretary of the last session called the roll and the following members and probationers responded: Chas. Transfers --The Bishop announced the following Transfers to this Conference: Thos. C. Webster, G. H. McAdam, a Deacon of the second class, R. C. McReynolds and J. A. Dooley, from the West Nebraska Conference; H. D. Brown from the Puget Sound; George W. Norris and Walter H. La Vake, a Deacon of the second class, from the Missouri Conference.
Secretaries. -- On motion of J. W. Shank. D. C. Winship was unanimously re elected Secretary. On the nomination of the Secretary J. W. Jennings, B. A. Barton and C. N. Dawson were elected assistant secretaries and D. K. Tindall, R. R. Secretary.
On motion of J. H. Brooks, F. B. Ham was elected Statistical Secretary and W. H. Linn, Chas. Snavely and J. B. Leedom, assistants.
On motion of J. B. Vaxfield H. H. Millard was elected Treasurer with Elmer E. Hosman, assistant.
The Presiding Elders submitted Dominations of Conference committees and they were elected. (See List.)
F. B. Ham moved that it be the sense of this body that the Committee on Missions report the work as well as the distribution of the Missionary society. The motion prevailed.Drafts. -- A draft for $25 was ordered on the Chartered fund and $662 on the Book Concern.
Visitors. -- S. H. Pye, of the Western Methodist Book Concern, was introduced and addressed the Conference.
Hospital. -- R. R. Ball, representing the M. E. Hospital and Deaconess' Home in Omaha, was introduced and gave an address, reporting the work of the institution since its organization.
T. C. Clendening moved that a committee of one from each Presiding Elder's district be appointed on M. E. Hos-

pital and Deaconess' Home. The motion prevailed and the following were appointed: J. T. Knuckey, Wm. Gorst, J. W. Miller and H. D. Brown.
A resolution offered by Geo. M. Brown, relating to the Hospital and Deaconess' Home was referred to the committee.Resigned. -- The Secretary read a communication from the Nebraska Wesleyan University, informing the Conference that L. H. Rogers had resigned his position on the Board of Trustees. On motion it was referred to the committee on education.
Question XIII, was taken up "Was the character of each preacher examined?"
T. C. Clendening, Presiding Elder of the Omaha District was called, his character passed and he reported the District.
The characters of following effective Elders were passed and their collections were reported, J. W. Robinson, Peter De Clark. P. S. Merrill.C. B. Allen. -- The name of C. B. Allen was called. The Presiding Elder stated that he had surrendered his parchments, withdrawn from the ministry and membership of the Methodist Episcopal church and united with the Baptist church, but that he is now present and desires to withdraw his withdrawal. On motion of J. B. Maxfield he was invited to define his position, to which he responded. T. C. Clendening moved that he be allowed to withdraw his withdrawal.
On motion of D. Marquett action on the matter was postponed until Thursday morning.
On motion of J. W. Robinson it was ordered that our sessions begin at 8:30 A M. and close at 12 M., the first half hour to be devoted to devotional services.
At his own request J. B. Leedom was excused from further attendance on this session of Conference.
The standing committees were called, announcements were made, the Doxology was sung and the Conference adjourned with the benediction by the Bishop.

MINUTES OF NORTH NEBRASKA CONFERENCE. SECOND DAY.
THURSDAY, September 15, 8:30, A. M.Devotional exercises were conducted by H. D. Brown.
Business. -- At 9 o'clock the Bishop took the chair. The minutes of yesterday's session were read and approved.
Visitors. -- The following visitors were introduced: W. J. Osborne of Kansas Conference, E. W. Jefferies of the Upper Iowa, and Rev L. Belknap pastor of the Congregational church at Plum Valley, and Geo. H. McAdam, a transfer from the West Nebraska Conference.
Statistics --The statistical secretary called the roll of delinquent charges. W. H. La Vake was elected assistant statistical secretary in place of J. B. Leedom, excused. On motion of F. B. Ham, it was ordered that all reports of charges not in by six p. m. today be declared delinquent.
Reporter. -- On motion of D. C. Winship, J. W. Robinson was elected reporter for the press.
Church Extension Committee. -- On motion of D. Marquett, F. B. Ham was elected a member of the church extension committee in place of J. H. Wilcox, excused on account of sickness.
Question XIII was resumed. A vote was taken in the case of C. B. Allen and he was permitted to withdraw his withdrawal, and his character was passed.
The character of the following effecting elders were passed and their collections were reported. G. M. Brown, H. A. Crane, A. Hodgetts, W. K. Beans, H. L. Powers, C. Snavely, T. C. Webster, J. Q. A. Fleharty, L. H. Eddleblute, J. T. Knuckey, C. N. Dawson, R. S. Crawford. J. W. Shank, J. E. Ensign. The characters of the following effective elders were passed: J. J. Banbury, N. L. Guthrie, C. D. Day, E. L. Fox and G. H. Main.Withdrawn. -- C. W. Savidge requested permission to withdraw from the ministry and membership of the Methodist Episcopal Church. and his request was granted.

had been transferred to the Erie, R. S. Crawford and E. L. Fox to the New York, and J. E. Ensign to the Upper Iowa Conference.
Norfolk District was called. The character of J. B. Maxfield was passed and he reported the district. The characters of the following effective elders were passed and their collections reported. J. R. Gearhart, H. H. Millard, J. Charles, D. W. McGregor. J. H. Frazier, H. W. Conley, J. B. Priest, J. L. St Clair. J. W. Jennings, J. W. Miller, G. A. Luce, W. H. Carter, D. C. Winship, Wm. Esplin, H. C. Myers, J. H. Brooks, E. A. Whitwam and H. C. Dayhoff.
Relation Changed. -- At their own request the relation of H. C. Dayhoff, and H. L. Powers was changed from effective to supernumerary, the latter to enter special evangelistic work.
Grand Island District was called. The character of J. E. Moore was passed and he reported the district. The characters of the following effective elders were passed and their collections reported, W. M. Worley, D. K. Tindall, E. C. Harper, W. H. H. Pillsbury, J. B. Leedom, H. A. Barton, W. A. Davies and D. T. Olcott. The character of Geo. W. Martin was passed. When the name of C. F. Heywood was called, the presiding elder announced that he had refused to go to his work..
Conference Relation. -- On motion of J. B. Maxfield a committee on Conference relations was ordered consisting of one from each district and one at large and the following were elected: J. P. Roe at large, E. C. Harper, Wm. Gorst, Chas. Snavely and J. B. Priest..
Referred. -- On motion of J. E. Moore the case of C. F. Heywood was referred to the committee on Conference relations..
Elkhorn Valley Dist. was called. The character of D. Marquette was passed and he reported the district. The characters of the following effective Elders were passed and their collections reported. C. M. Griffith, Wm. Stanner, Wm. Gorst, Jno. Crews, B. Blain, W. R. Phelps and W. A. Wilson.

MINUTES OF NORTH NEBRASKA CONFERENCE. Transfer. -- It was announced that C. C. Wilson had been transferred to the West Nebraska Conference.
Located. -- The character of N. H. Blackmar was passed and he was located at his own request.
Question III was taken up, "Who have been received on credentials from other churches?" J. H. Vogt, of the Evangelical Association was, on motion of D. Marquette, received on trial and excused from pursuing the course of study.
Jas. H. Wilcox, a Deacon of the second class, was received on certificate of location from the West Wisconsin Conference.Question V. -- Who have been continued on trial? The characters of the following were passed and their collections reported. It was requested that they be left without appointment to attend some one of our schools and they were continued on trial. Edward T. George, Arthur L. Kellogg, Edward R. Leedom, Edward E. Wilson and Wm. B. Slaughter.
Advanced. The characters of the following were passed, they reported their collections, their examinations were reported and they were advanced to the class of the second year. Farnum Ellis, Wm. H. Underwood, Elmer E. Hosman, Wm. H. Linn and Frank A. High.
Transfer. -- Frederick Tonge, on trial in the first year in the West Virginia Conference was announced transferred to this conference. He reported his collection, his examination was reported and on motion of Wm. Gorst he was continued on trial and advised to attend some one of our schools.
Question XXIII was taken up. "Who are the superannuated preachers?" The characters of J. Adriance, C. Balson and D. C. Worts were passed and their relation continued.
Announcements were made, Doxology was sung and Conference adjourned with the benediction by the Bishop.

THIRD DAY.
FRIDAY, September 16, 8:30 A. M.Devotional services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Jennings.
Business. -- At 9 o'clock the Bishop took the chair. The minutes of Thursday's session were read and approved;
Excused. -- On motion of J. B. Maxfield, W. H. Carter was at his own request excused from the Board of Conference Stewards
Educational Funds. -- On motion of J. W. Robinson the Treasurer was instructed to turn over all Educational funds not otherwise designated, to the North Nebraska Conference Seminary.
Bellevue Church Property. -- T. C. Clendening presented a petition from Gretna Quarterly Conference, asking that the proceeds of the sale of church property at Bellevue, which was sold September 20th, 1888, for one hundred and seventy-five dollars, be turned over to the trustees of the Gretna Charge.
On motion of T. C. Clendening the petition was granted.Report. -- The statistical secretary submitted the annual report. The report was accepted.
Minutes. -- The Secretary reported the expense of publishing the minutes of the last annual session. The report was referred to the auditing committee.
Presiding Elders' Reports. -- On motion of D. K. Tindall it was ordered that the Presiding Elders' Reports be published in the minutes.
On motion of D. C. Winship, the roll was called for subscriptions for the minutes, and collectors were appointed.Pub. Minutes. -- On motion of A. Hodgetts, the Secretary was instructed to make arrangements for the publication of the Minutes of next annual session.
Question X. -- "What members have completed their studies?" was taken up. The characters of the following were passed: Their collections were reported. They were
