ELECTIVE EXECUTIVE STATE OFFICERS

     ADAM McMULLEN, Governor (Republican). Born at Wellsville, New York, June 12, 1872. Came to Nebraska in 1883. Married in 1901 to Cora Greenwood. Ancestors came from Scotland in 1850. Graduated from University of Nebraska and Columbian law college. Is a lawyer and farmer. Has been mayor, president of school board. Member of Nebraska house of representatives and state senate. Belongs to Episcopal Church, Masons, Odd Fellows and Elks. Address: Beatrice.

     GEORGE ARTHUR WILLIAMS, Lieutenant Governor (Republican). Born in Lafayette, Illinois, 1864, of English parents. Attended the common schools of Galva, Illinois, and later attended business college at Graysville, Tennessee. Was married and came to Nebraska in 1888. Has been a farmer and merchant. Has also been manager of several sanitariums conducted by the Seventh Day Adventists, of which organization he is a member. Address: Fairmont.

     CHARLES W. POOL, Secretary of State (Democrat). Born in Henry county, Illinois. Came to -Nebraska in 1865. Married April 25, 1883 to Frank L. Foster. Educated in public schools of Nebraska. Has been secretary of state, farmer, printer, editor, owner and publisher of a Nebraska newspaper, member of city council, president of city library board, member of Nebraska legislature and deputy state land commissioner. Belongs to Grace Episcopal Church, Masons, Royal Highlanders and Maccabees. Address: Lincoln.

     GEORGE W. MARSH, Auditor of public accounts (Republican). Born in 1852. Has been in Nebraska sixty-seven years. Had a normal school education. Was county treasurer and secretary of state. Formerly engaged in real estate and insurance business. Address: Lincoln.

     CHARLES D. ROBINSON, Treasurer (Republican). Burn at Prophetstown, Illinois, May 8, 1858. Came to Nebraska in 1883. Married Edith Hillson in 1889; six children. Attended common and high schools. Has been county treasurer and county treasurer examiner. Belongs to Christian, Church and Masons. Address: Red Cloud.

     DANIEL SWANSON, Commissioner of public lands and buildings (Republican). Born in Sweden, May 1, 1857. Came to Nebraska in 1878. Married January 6, 1884 to Matilda C. Streed; three children. Parents emigrated from Sweden in 1878. Attended common schools and college. Has been in real estate business. Has held offices in city, county, school district and state. Was state representative from Dodge county 1901 and postmaster at Fremont from 1903 to 1912. Is a Lutheran. Address: Lincoln.

     ORA SELDON SPILLMAN, Attorney general (Republican). Born on a farm near Grinnell, Iowa, March 10, 1881. Married November 27, 1924 to Florence Marjorie Parminter. Ancestors came from Scotland, Germany and Ireland. Is a graduate of Highland Park college (now Des Moines university) and law college of University of Nebraska. Has been solicitor for college and an attorney. Was county attorney of Pierce county and member of Constitutional Convention, 1919-1920. Is a Methodist. Belongs to University Club, Lincoln, American Legion, American Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association, National Association of Attorneys General, International Association of Attorneys General, Masons, and Elks. Address: Pierce.

     JOHN M. MATZEN, State Superintendent. Born at Moline, Illinois, August 15, 1877. Moved to Dodge county, Nebraska, 1884. Mother came to America from Sweden in 1856; father came from Denmark in 1866. Is a graduate of Hooper and Fremont high schools and Fremont college. Holds college degree, professional life certificate and city superintendent's professional life certificate. Taught school in Dodge county, 1898 to 1906; County superintendent of schools of Dodge county, 1906 to 1920, and state superintendent 1920 to date.
