Truman, three children. Paternal ancestors came from England in 1666; maternal ancestors came from Scotland and Holland, 1735. Attended common schools, Sanquoit academy, Sanquoit, New York. Read law in law office two years, attended law school two years. Graduated from Bryant and Stratton business college at Utica, New York, 1879. Was a member of school board seventeen Years, mayor of Newman Grove ten years, state senator 1907, and Grand Master of 1. 0. 0. F., 1901-1902. Has been a farmer, merchant and banker. Is a Congregationalist. ANDREW MARCUS MORRISSEY (Chief Justice). Born at Livonia, New York, December 27, 1871. Came to Nebraska in 1893. Ancestors emigrated to United states from Ireland in 1787. Attended public schools of New York. Was county attorney of Cherry county for two terms, city attorney of Valentine twelve years, secretary to governor of Nebraska two years, and deputy attorney general for a short time, when appointed chief justice, 1915. Elected chief. justice in 1916 and re-elected 1920. Is a member of the American Bar Association and American Law Institute. Address: Lincoln.
GEORGE ARMSTRONG DAY. Born at Afton, Iowa, November 10, 1859. Came to Nebraska in 1883, Married February 13, 1889 to Sarah E. Brown. Ancestors came from England about 1720. Was educated at Tabor college and University of Iowa. Is a lawyer. Was deputy attorney general in 1895-96; on Supreme court commission 1901-1902; district judge 1902-1920; supreme court justice 1920 to date. Belongs to Congregational Church, Masons, Elks and W. 0. GEORGE AGLER EBERLY. Born at Fort Wayne, Indiana, February 9, 1871. Came to Nebraska March 21, 1873. Married Rose E. Psota on August 2, 1899; three children. Ancestors came from Switzerland in 1730. Attended common schools, Stanton high school and University of Michigan law department. Holds degrees of L.L.B. and L.L.M. Served five terms as city attorney of Stanton, two terms on Stanton board of education and four terms as county attorney of Stanton county. Is a member of the Congregational Church, A. F. and A. M. (Scottish Rite), Ben Hur, M. W. A., American Legion, Spanish American War Veterans, Sons of Herman, Sons of Union Veterans of Civil War, Reserve Officers of World War, Farmers' Educational and Co-operative Union of America and Military Order of World War. Ancestors came from England early in the eighteenth century. Educated in public schools of Grove City and Grove City college. Received L.L.D. from Grove City college. Admitted to bar at Mercer, Pennsylvania, 1888. Since coming to Nebraska. has been assistant state librarian, deputy clerk of Supreme court, editor of decisions of Supreme court, vols. 35 to 59, assistant attorney general, 1900 to 1908, judge of Supreme court from 1908 to date. Had a common school education and private instruction; attended Upper Iowa University, Fayette, Iowa, 1872-1875, L.L.B. State University of Iowa, 1877. Was county attorney, city attorney, mayor of Grand Island and has been member of Capitol commission since its organization. Candidate for United States senate and governor of Nebraska, Chairman of Democratic national and state committee. Delegate to every Democratic national convention beginning in 1892, except in 1908 and 1912. Belongs to Presbyterian Church, M. W. A. and Elks. Address: Grand Island.
