To correct a mistake made in Cutter's Genealogical and family history of Central New York, vol. 1, p. 187, generation V, the following records of the family of William and Patty (Cobb) Gibbs taken from the vital records of Sterling, Massachusetts, by the Town Clerk, are printed. These children are wrongly assigned to Ezra Gibbs in that volume.
William Gibbs married Patty Cobb in Princeton, Massachusetts, 30 Nov. 1788. They had issue (all born at Sterling)

Lincoln, Nebraska
The Society was formed several years ago by a group of people interested in genealogy. It is the purpose of the Society to preserve the genealogical records of the Middle West and, wherever possible, trace the families of the Middle West to the eastern progenitors. With this in mind the Society has published THE NEBRASKA AND MIDWEST GENEALOGICAL RECORD, a quarterly magazine, which is sent to all members of the Society.
Membership in the Society is open to anyone interested in its aims. The annual dues are two dollars, including the magazine, payable in advance in January. Anyone desiring to become a member may do so by sending the dues to the Treasurer of the Society.
Life membership is available at fifty dollars. All funds derived from Life Memberships are kept as an endowment, and the income only is used for the support of the Society.
Material for publication in the RECORD should be sent to the Editor, Gilbert H. Doane, The University Library, Lincoln, Nebraska. Any one may submit manuscripts for consideration for publication. The Editor reserves the right to reject or accept material, and, if accepted, to put it into the form used by the magazine. It is suggested that prospective contributors study carefully the form of the various types of articles that have been printed, and follow that form as closely as possible in preparing their material for consideration.
