ATTENTION!
I am
August C. Holmquist, a pre-warning for the
many who know. I am from Oakland,
Nebraska. I am the guy who is leaving no
stone unturned in the Military Department,
and whom you see in the blue uniform
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday and Saturday of each week. Now,
don't you think I fill out a mean bust? If
you have failed to see my service stripes.
my Pershing Rifle and Scabbard and Blade
bars, drop out in front of Social Science
building after the next hour and take a
squint. If I am not there I can be found
in the Military Offices of Nebraska Hall
either creating a big noise with the P. M.
S. and T. or causing an everlasting air
current in my own direction. Thanks to
those who have gone before me and made me
what I am today, for I am an officer in
both Basic and Advanced Course honorary
societies. Again, must I be emphatic, I am
August C. Holmquist. The girls fall for me
in my uniform, the officers seem to be
catching on to my manner of leaping
forward in the rifle corps, but even so, I
think I ought to be higher than I am and
who knows, if people don't find out how
dumb I really am perhaps I can continue
being a wet apple.
