two. After receiving his degree from the University as L. L. B., he was admitted June 17th, 1891, to the practice of law in the Iowa State Courts, and also in the same month was admitted to the practice of law before the Federal Court in the Southern District of Iowa.
   In September, 1891, Mr. Thomason located at Tekamah where his success has been marked. He was united in marriage to Miss Angeline J. Pierce, of Tekamah, in May, 1893.

   GEORGE H. WIXER was born at Syracuse, New York, January 4th, 1856. From there he removed to Chicago then to Tekamah, reaching here February 7th, 1871. Since residing here Mr. Wixer has took the lead in contracting and building. His artistic work has done more than any other man's to beautify our city in handsome residences. His time and energy is nearly all expended in his business, but he has found time to serve on the City Council for two terms and takes much interest in beautifying and improving the city.
   October 25th, 1882, Mr. Wixer was united in marriage to Miss Maggie Templeton, of this city.

   ROBERT W. ADAMS was born at Algona, Iowa, March 20th, 1868. From there he accompanied his parents upon their removal to Admah, Washington county, Nebraska, and from there to Tekamah in March, 1882, where he has since continuously resided. Mr. Adams is a registered pharmacist and is the head of the Adams Drug Co., of this city. He takes an interest in all matters of public interest and is one of the city's foremost citizens.
   Mr. Adams was united in marriage October 4th, 1894, to Miss Cora E. Spielman of this city.

   FRANK E. WARD was born May 30th, 1858, in Henry county, Illinois. In 1860 he accompanied his parents upon their removal to Huron county, Ohio.

Here he remained until coming to Nebraska, arriving in Tekamah, March 22nd, 1878. He entered the school room as teacher upon coming to this county, and taught for several years in different parts of the county. He then moved to this city and served the county from 1888 to 1895 as Clerk of the District Court and from 1896 to 1899 inclusive as County Judge, filling both positions with credit to himself and satisfaction to his constituency. He is now engaged in the Land Title, Abstract and Insurance business.
   Mr. Ward was united in marriage January 1st, 1880, to Miss Alice V. Gates.

   HENRY SCHERER was horn January 3d, 1850, in Johannesberg, Germany. He left his native country and came to America at the age of seventeen years residing in New York until he came to Tekamah, in the fall of 1882. From that time he resided here continuously until his death from typhoid fever, August 28th, 1894. While residing here he followed his trade of butcher, conducting a fine market and making a success of the business. He was enterprising and took a prominent part in all public affairs serving four terms as City Councilman and one term as Mayor of the city. He was a member of the committee of the City Council which had under its supervision the construction of the city water works system and also in giving to Tekamah her first street lights.
   Mr. Scherer was united in marriage August 28th, 1871, to Miss Rosa Windsheimer, of New York City.

   JAMES C. SHAW was horn December 27th, 1850, in Wayne county, Ohio. During his younger days he also resided in Loraine county and Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Shaw came west and located in Omaha, August 12th, 1872, and came to Burt county, November 10th, 1878, locating in Bell Creek township. When first coming to Burt county and for a number of years thereafter Mr. Shaw followed the profession of school
