ship among the first hardy pioneers to locate there and located a claim of eighty acres of which he retained possession until within eighteen months of his death. He devoted his attention almost entirely to stock raising and farming although he became largely interested in Tekamah city property during the latter years of his life when he made his residence here, passing from this life June 4th, 1902.
Mr. Haywood was united in marriage January 15th, 1862, to Elizabeth A. Marr at Decora, Iowa.
WILLIAM ROSS MOREHOUSE was born in Tekamah, February 25th. 1877, and resided here continuously until his removal to Custer county in the spring of 1904 where he is now located on a ranch. While in Tekamah he devoted his attention to mercantile lines, running one of the nicest groceries in the city. He was united in marriage June 10th, 1903, to Miss Lucy Hoffman, of this city.
CHARLES E. HOPEWELL was born June 29th, 1872 in Worth county, Missouri. He accompanied his parents upon their removal to Burt county, Nebraska, in March, 1880. For several years he was book-keeper in the Burt County State Bank and also held the position of City Treasurer. Leaving this position for life on his farm located near this city. Mr. Hopewell was united in marriage June 11th, 1902, to Miss Minnie Fischer of this city.
MYRON H. MOREHOUSE was born June 4th, 1838, in Orleans county, New York. He became a resident of Tekamah in May, 1871, and has always been one of its leading citizens. He is the leading contractor of the county on bridge building and public works of various kinds.
