Adam Hedrick and Melissa Belle (Kline) Hedrick came to Nebraska from West Virginia in 1882.  They homsteaded 160 acres in Section 4, Liberty Precinct in Nuckolls County.  Adam Hedrick was a farmer and stock raiser.  He was born in 1844 in Pendleton Co. West Virginia, was in the 62d Virginia Infantry (Mounted) during the Civil War, was wounded and captured.  He is buried in Union Cemetary in Nuckolls County near where he farmed.  Melissa Belle Kline was from Virginia.  They had six children.   My father, Lowell, was born in Deweese.
