The 1852 Iowa census for Farmington Township in Van Buren Co.pg. 12, line 16, lists the Stephen Powell family as having 2 males & 4 females.? One voter and one Malita in the home.
Stephen Powell moved to Helena Precinct, Johnson Co. Ne. in May 1857 & was among the early settlers of Johnson Co.? He homesteaded 160 acres and lived there till his death in 1864.
At the time of Stephen's death he was buried in a small private cemetery on the family farm in Johnson Co. Nenraska.
At a later date he, & Isabelle, were reburied in Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, Johnson Co.,Ne.
