David Shepard BEAN, Private,  son of Wm. M. and Lucy, was born at Newport, Me., Nov. 28, 1843. Was a shoemaker and lived with his brother Henry in Rochester fifteen years. Mustered Sept. 18, 1861. Died very suddenly of diphtheria at Hilton Head, Jan. 23, 1862, and was buried there.
