Byesville-Mrs. Elizabeth Irene Aplin, 70, of 221 Spruce Ave., Byesville died at Geauga County Hospital in Chardon early Tuesday morning [January 10, 1978].

She was born in Guernsey County on Feb. 23, 1907, the daughter of William and Jane Brown Short. Mrs. Aplin was a member of the United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star in Byesville, Daughters of America, Zodiac Club and Homemakers club.

She leaves her husband, Allen Aplin; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Donna) Drotar of Huntsburg and Mrs. Roy (Beverly) Weese of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one brother, Fred Leslie of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling hours at McGaughy Funeral Home in Byesville will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Services will be at 1 pm on Friday from the funeral home with the Rev. Eldon Wilson and the Rev. Louise Rogers officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
