Henry T. Smith, son of Henry and Jane Smith, was born in Guernsey County, Ohio, in the year 1833 and departed this life March 26, 1915; aged eighty-one years, four months and eight days. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Lindsey, of Solsberry, and eight children and eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was married three times. The first was to Rebecca Jarvis, January 17, 1856, and to this union was born three children, two boys and one girl, of whom two are living, Jonathan L. and Mrs. Rachel Buckner. William died in infancy. The second marriage was to Parmelia Clarv, February 12, 1863. To this union was born five children, three boys and two girls, Pinzen J., Leonard O., Mrs. Alice Hoagland, Mrs. Ida C. Adkins and one dying in infancy not named. His third marriage was to Ruhama Walker, April 22, 1892, and to this union was born two children Mrs. Bertha Fuller and Cleveland Smith both living. He joined the United Brethren Church at Solsberry in 1870, and has since been a faithful follower of the loving Savior until he was called away where sorrow and pain are not more. He moved to Highland Township in 1872, where he lived until his death. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and bore his suffering with all patience. Besides his sister and children, he leaves many relatives and friends to mourn his departure. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Henry Flory at the Tulip church. Interment in the Tulip Cemetery. We take this means of thanking the neighbors and friends for their kindness and assistance during the illness and death of our father Henry T. Smith. HIS CHILDREN.
