Huntzicker, Olive (Marriage - 26 JUN 1901)

A very pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Root, at eight o'clock Wednesday evening, June 26, 1901, at which their daughter Miss Olive Huntzicker was untied in marriage with Mr. William L. Smith, of Eau Claire. Rev. T. Grafton Owen performed the ceremony. The rooms were beautifully decorated with flowers, so appropriate to the occasion, and especially so to the June wedding. Congratulations and good wishes both hearty and sincere were offered from relatives and guests, many beautiful presents were bestowed and all sat down to the goodly banquet in a most happy frame of mind. The groom has taught in the grammar department of the North Side (Neillsville, Clark County) schools for the past two years and will this year become assistant in the High School. He is not only an able and popular educator, but is socially a favorite, which has added greatly to his usefulness among the young people of this city. The bride is a lovely young lady who has hosts of friends in the city and county, as well as among school and college mates. The following is a list of the guests: Mrs. Charlotte R. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Smith, Miss Kate Smith and Miss Helen Wight, Eau Claire Carl F. Ogden, Black River Falls Edward M. Gilbert, Blair Earl L. Hall, Minneapolis Mrs. Bridget McMahon, Miss Grace McMahon, Mr. and Mrs. John Shanks, Miss Clara Huntzicker, Mr. George Huntzicker, Greenwood Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hantke, Pleasant Ridge Miss Alma Holtzhausen, Thorp Rev. T.G. Owen, Arcadia.
