DORCHESTER, SCHWOCH INSURANCE (1903 - 1973)
Moving his insurance agency from Rib Lake into Dorchester in 1963, Theodore Schwoch Sr. was joined by his son, Ted Jr., in 1964 who moved here from rural Stetsonville. Specializing in estate preservation, the Schwoch family marks this as their 70th year in the insurance business. Selling of insurance started with Charles Schwoch in 1903 in the Rib Lake area. His son, Theodore Sr., started in 1924, serving the area from Marshfield to Ashland (including Dorchester). Karl, a son of Theodore Sr., joined the insurance business in 1953 and serves the Eau Claire to Neillsville area, residing at Fall Creek, Wis. Ted Schwoch Jr. came into the insurance business in 1956 and serves the Marshfield, Wausau to Thorp area at the present time.
