DORCHESTER POLE YARD, INC.
Starting in business Dec. 1957, the Dorchester Pole Yard sells building materials for pole-type buildings. Approximately twenty contractors build pole buildings, through them. They also design and sell needed materials to anyone wishing to construct their own pole building. To construct a pole building, large poles or timbers are set 6 ft. into the ground and the building is constructed around the portion of pole protruding above ground. Many storage sheds and buildings are found on the grounds. They also produce truss rafters for farm buildings cattle bunk feeders and bale racks. The manager is George Greaser.
