Blakesley, Mrs. Chauncey (? - 4 JAN 1903)
News was received in the city Monday of the death of Mrs. Chauncey Blakesley which occurred at her home in Sparta, Sunday night Jan. 4, 1903. Mrs. Blakeslee was for many years a resident of Neillsville, where her husband engaged extensively in business and there are still many of the older residents here who were her friends. Her maiden name was Maria Boardman, being a sister of the late S.C. Boardman. She leaves three sons: George and Oscar of Minneapolis and Frank who lives in California, and one daughter, Cora, the wife of Dr. Beebe of Sparta, survives her. Mrs. Blakeslee was an aunt by marriage of D. Dickinson. A step-son, Wm. Blakeslee, resides in the west. She was a bright capable woman. Of late years she has traveled extensively, visiting European countries as well as many places in the United States.
