Haugen, Hannah (23 Dec 1860 - 6 FEB 1903)

Mrs. Thomas Haugen died very suddenly at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County), Friday Feb. 6, 1903, having been sick but a few hours. Deceased whose maiden name was Hannah Anderson was born in Norway, Dec. 23, 1860. She came to America and was married to Thomas Haugen in 1878, and they have resided here ever since. She was a good woman in every sense of the word, devoted to her home and family, giving them the full measure of her strength. To them her death is indeed a sad blow. She leaves eleven children, several of who are still quite young. No death in Neillsville for many years has drawn forth more sincere expressions of sympathy than that of Mrs. Haugen. Besides her husband and children, she leaves a brother and sister in California, a sister in Butternut, Wis., and her mother in Norway, to mourn her death. The funeral was held at the Scandinavian Lutheran Church, Rev. Anderson of Marshfield officiating.
