Houghton, Elizabeth (1845 - 11 JAN 1901)
It is our sad duty this week to chronicle the death of Mrs. Edgar P. Houghton, who passed away at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County) on Saturday, Jan. 11, 1902, the cause of her death being consumption. She was an invalid for a number of years and although everything in the power of medical skill and loving care was done to stay the march of the dread disease, her form grew weaker from day to day till at last the life thread was sundered and she slept the sleep of death.
Elizabeth Nettleton was born in Ohio in 1845 and came with her parents to this state in 1855, settling in (some of my copy was cut off)
.host of friends, all of whom fell in her death a personal loss. She was one whom to know was to respect and she possessed those sterling qualities which merit the admiration of all. To the bereaved relatives is extended the sympathy of the entire community.
