Zigfel, Johanna C. (2 Feb 1825 - 9 Sep 1903)

Johanna Christina Zigfel died Sept. 9th, 1903 at her home in the town of Grant, Clark County, at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 7 days. She was born in Altenberg, Saxony, Germany. In 1854 she was married to George Frederick Zigfel. To them were born 3 daughters and one son. In 1868 the family came to this country and located in the town of Grant. There they succeeded in making a good home. For nearly fifty years she and her husband lived a happy life. She was a kind mother, a true wife and a kind friend. The funeral ceremony took place Friday afternoon at the house. The sermon was preached in the Union brick church, burial taking place in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Rev. J Schneller of Marshfield officiating.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, her daughters, Paulina Schaeffner, Minna Brucks, Bertha Schultz and her son Louis Zigfel and family. Her son's wife had bestowed the kindest care upon the aged mother.
