Waterman, John (1 Augl 1824 - 10 OCT 1903)
John Waterman died Oct. 10, 1903 at his home in the town of Grant, Clark County, on Pleasant Ridge, aged 79 years, 2 months and 9 days. He was born in Staplehurst, England and came to this country in 1850 to Buffalo, N.Y. In 1852 he was married to Ellen E. Vine to whom ten children were born, the four living are Mrs. Anna King, Mrs. Frannie Swann, Mrs. Sarah Hall and Mrs. Eliza Cameron of Iowa. His wife died 12 years ago last January. He came to Wisconsin in 1865 and settled on his farm, where he lived until his death. He also has a nephew, William Waterman of Grant.
Mr. Waterman was of a pleasant disposition and contented with his lot. The funeral was held at the Pleasant Ridge Church Monday. Rev. G.W. Longenecker preached the sermon and he was laid to rest beside his wife in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
The family thanks the neighbors and friends for their kindness in their bereavement and for the many flowers that were sent.
