Smith, Josephine (Marriage - 18 NOV 1903)
Thomas Fremont Burge and Miss Josephine Smith were married Wednesday evening, Nov. 18, 1903 at the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Smith on the North Side in this city (Neillsville, Clark County), Rev. G.W. Longenecker officiating. It had been the intention to have a wedding at the Congregational Church, both bride and groom being members of that church, but owing to the serious illness of the bride's sister, Mrs. Melville of Chicago, a home wedding was decided upon and only a few friends were present. Monday night a large number of their friends met at Mr. Smith's residence and bestowed upon the young couple a great variety of household utensils, and spent a pleasant evening. The groom is the son of Mrs. Allie Burge. He was born and brought up here, and is a young man of excellent character. The bride is a social favorite and a young lady who commands the esteem of all. They will reside in Neillsville.
